I used to have a cheap pillow, and often I would wake up with neck pain that lasted for days. [It really was a pain in the neck, haha]. A friend suggested I upgrade my pillow to a fancy gel pillow, and sure enough I haven't had neck problems since. What kind of pillow do you use? How often do you change your pillow?

Yes, it is good to choose the type of pillow that one feels comfortable. Some types are a bit expensive, but still, that's worth it considering how one can suffer sleeping with a wrong kind of pillow. I have had that bad experience a couple of times, and I would never forget that.

I use a very soft pillow and sometimes don't use a pillow. This way I never had any problem with having pain in the neck. That depends on your bed too. If your bed is soft enough, then you don't need to use a pillow. But yes, you can try gel pillow too,I haven't buy one since I am comfortable with my pillows.

This is going to sound crazy, but I actually prefer cheap pillows over fancy pillows! Sometimes I rather not even sleep with a pillow at all! My back bothers me a lot, so sometimes I'll just lay on my stomach without a pillow. I like pillows that are flat, I don't like soft and feathery ones. I like when they're just enough to keep my head off of the couch, bed, or whatever I'm sleeping on. I change my pillowcase pretty regularly because I want to prevent breakouts. Dirty pillows cause a lot of acne, so I try to steer clear of that. As for exchanging my actual pillows, I probably by new ones maybe two to three times a year. I still use the old ones when I need to though.
