In intel processor, i3 and i4 processor give more performance than atom cpu. What i want to know is what version of AMD processor that have the same class as i3 or i4? If i want to compare a asus 1215B netbook which using AMD processor, should i compare it to notebook with i3 processor or with atom dual core processor?

Oh, there has been testing on these, so I cannot make up numbers at the moment, but you can try looking through "cpubenchmark.net" On this site, they run through many tests using many different processors and have a benchmark chart on how the compete with each other, the higher the number the better. Can't really help you in comparing notebooks though, as each notebook aside from the processor itself has very detailed differences and abilities, comparing the processors is just a small step to the overall function of the notebook. But recently, the new A6 and A8 processors from AMD are the latest once that could have probably been designed for good notebooks that uses I3's and I5's. It has a really sweet function actually, that i'll explain in the next paragraph. So people argue that the AMD processors heat up compared to intels. So AMD designed their new processors to have a turbo boost function. Instead of running at 2.4 ghz at all time for example, the new AMD processors will run at 1.3 ghz and boost to 2.4 ghz only when needed. This way, they wont be at a constant 2.4 ghz which will cause then to heat up.

For intel core i3 the counterpart of it for amd is AMD Phenom II X3 or X2 and for Core I5 is that AMD Phenom II x4. You should compare the Asus 1215b procesor to and Intel core I3. But it is either what kind of task will you do with the computer.
