Hi every friend in mylot, where are you from? I have joined mylot for nearly 4 months, being here, I feel very happy to make friens and understand different cultures all over the world. However, I find a strange phenomenon that the nationalities of people in mylot are not far-ranging. I noticed, it is often the case that people here(by my statistics)are from these countries: America, Philippines, India, Britain, China. Seldom or never can I see mylotters from Japan, Australia, Russia, Spain, Germany, Canada, Brazil and many other countries around the world. It's really an amazing thing. So, could you tell me the reson? How I wish I could make friends from all sorts of countries. Thank you.

Hi, its true that there are many people from the above mentioned countries. But it doesn't mean that there are no other nationales involved. I know a few from China n Brazil. I remember once writing to an Australian, never any New Zealander though. There is someone called smiling jack who's from Germany. There are canadians too... Thing is that not everyone here is keen to mention his/her nationality, I' positive that you've communicated with many from different nations without knowing where they're from.....

I think there are a lot of people here in mylot. Its just that you have to know that they are here.. but we are not talking to each members and asking them where they are from so we would never really know. i believe that there are a lot of members from all over the world here... :D

As some many quoted , timezone makes a difference here . Also US, CHINA, India are the biggest users of INTERNET across all gender and age. May this could be the reason you find more user from these countries . Still you want friends from other countries , then you may go through each profile and send a friends request.

I'm Australian! I'm from Australia! So far, I have only come across maybe 1 or 2 Australians posting discussions around here but not many. I actually don't pay attention on where a mylotter is from simply just respond to their discussions. I try not to use Aussie slang because no one would understand it. I would love to find more Australians here! The population for Mylot isn't that big, it's only around 240,000 people here, and that's everyone from all over the globe. It's hard to find somebody here from every single country out there but wouldn't it be cool to have mylotters from all over the world from every country?! But we do have quite a lot of unique people from all walks of life here. Mylot just needs to get a little more popular.

People from different places are on different time zones. This could be part of your problem. And for two some countries have internet restrictions, were they can't just get on any site. Or you could be just not looking hard enough also. A lot of people come to mylot but don't stay. There is no real way to meet specific kinds of friends from specific places. You just have to respond to everyone you can and make good discussions and see who you keep on seeing. There are sites out there where you can search by area for friends. Try penpaling if you are looking for some interesting culture exchange.

I'm from America. :) Massachusetts to be exact. I love the fact that MyLot has different people from all over the world. It's like coming to a place where you can learn about different cultures and customs all in one setting. I can learn about what people are doing in The Philippines and India just from sitting at my computer! I just think it's awesome.

I do know some users from Germany, Canada and Australia in here. Maybe the time zones when they are logging in don't fit with yours. Or maybe their discussions or the discussions that they are participating on is not that exposed to you. This can be due to interest difference or you are too much exposed to your friends discussion and not be able to notice other discussions from other nationalities interests. But yes, I have yet to see someone from Japan in here. I suggest that you try to add many friends out to be able to get a good network of friends here in myLot. There are many nationalities in here, you just have to look for them.

I'm from Canada. And my friend Lash is from Australia. I know another member who's also from Australia. The other respondents have stated the facts quite accurately. The difference in the time zones. Some members might not have indicated where they're from. And I do remember seeing members from Pakistan, and a number of African countries. So, yes, like the other respondents said, the eyes must be made to do what they're meant to do. Karim Jessa

It is true that majority are from those countries that you mentioned but others are not. It is hard to know who is from who because we usually don't talk about our nationality, which infact should be an issue in any way.

I am new, from Indonesia. Most difficulties is PayPal availability. The second is time zone, Philippines and China is relatively in the same zone so do America and Brazil, and they almost exactly in opposite time with you. Several friend from Indonesia are hanging around mylot too.
