Facebook now has a video Call feature. Do you ever try it? Since to use it you need to install a software ( or maybe plug in ), it make a few people actually use it. As for me, i already download the installer but not yet install it. No One in my facebook friend actually want to do video call. They prefer skype or Yahoo Messenger for video call. Do you actually already try video call on facebook? If you do, what kind of experience is that? Did the quality good? tell me more about this. And if you are not use it, do you plan to use it? Please tell me about this.

I didn't even know they had that feature. When was it release? I mean I logged in just last night and the only new thing I saw were the smiley's but I didn't see the video calling option. Even if I saw it, I don't I'll be able to install it as it is not my computer and it doesn't even have a webcam. Haha maybe later, when I am able to buy my new laptop but from others say, they figured its a virus.

Haha, now I am too confused whether to get it or not. People say its a virus yet sounds cool. I never heard any feedbacks about it from my friends, so I don't know.. Haha I'll just wait first if I ever get my laptop...lol.

Well from the previous member post, i think it is quite a few month already. Facebook never sent this information to your E-Mail or Inbox, so little of us know about this information. But if you use facebook chat, you will find the option in the top right corner ( the first icon ). See my picture attachment in the main topic discussion for the print screen.

i doubt it was a virus since you access it directly from facebook ( if you see my attachment you will now that it was located in facebook chat ). I also never read any review about the facebook video call, and no body seems really care. Since no one trying, i think it will be a while before we heard about the quality of the video call in facebook chat.

It has been online for at least 3 or 4 months. I was told by a friend of mine. Downloaded the software, but don't really use it.

I have no idea if it is country specific. All I know is that it is available in India. So even if it is country specific, not many countries would be left out. Just my opinion, though.

I think so too, because people have complain about it already. but some are using it,even though it slow down their computer. But i don't think i will use it in the near future ,so i hope it fail so that people can go back to what they use to Skype and messengers.

Oh so it actually slow down our computer? Well it makes me not want to use it more. I always prefer yahoo messenger or skype for voice call or / and video call. So knowing it very slow make me not want to use it more. Thanks for the review my friend.

Yes, the problem with Facebook Video Call is that it need to be set up first. And since it is kinda a hassle, people rarely set it up. Since very few people set it up, people feel kinda lazy to use it. Especially those who already accustomed with Skype and other Messenger. So, as long there is only few people that set it up, i think this feature will end up a failure.

No, Not Yet. I don't have friend who want to do some video chat in facebook. They don't set it up yet. They prefer video call in Skype or Yahoo Messenger. That is why, if any of you already try it, you should share it with us. So i can promote how good ( or bad ) the video call in Facebook.

No. after the collabration of skype with microsoft, facebook uses the same platform of skype. so i think it does have a good video audio clarity. i didnt used it, because skype is still the best. it has better reception than any other. and most friends are on skype, yup they are in facebook too. but they dont want to opt facebook. skype has the trick guys! but mind it both facebook and skype are same company Microsoft.

Well this the first time i actually hear that skype and facebook video call using the same platform. But since i using skype already, and no one actually using the facebook video call, i think i stick with skype for now. I also ( most of the time ) called my friend oversea using skype since it is very cheap, so it is most practical to stick with it.

Its first time for me hearing facebook have video call feature. But, i guess i would not install or using the feature in the near future for it needs good internet connection and onfortunately i dont have that. But iven if i have a good internet connection, i guess i'll stick with my yahoo messenger for now since its more familiar for me.

Well it is a messenger, that mean you can chat with your friend. But skype is ultimate function is to do voice call and video call. You can even call to a land line and cell phone ( but calling land phone and cell phone will cost you some money ). You should try it, the quality of the call is much better than yahoo messenger.

Well yes, most of the time, Video Call will take much bandwith. Even a simply voice call with out video take much of your bandwith, so it is not an option for those which slow or not unlimited internet connection. If you currently only using yahoo messenger, i suggest if you want a video call or simply a voice, try to use Skype Instead. It has a much better quality than yahoo messenger.

I haven't tried the video call or downloaded anything for it. I'm assuming you'd need a webcam, which I don't have. I really don't know anyone that has the stuff to video chat. My friend has it because she uses it to video chat with her son especially when he was overseas with the navy. I'm not big on video chatting so I'm in no hurry to get the stuff for that.

Well every person have a different need. I actually like video chatting. Since it is fun to see your face friend when you are talking to them. It is by far, more useful than a smiley that a text messenger have. But off course, video call also have a negative value like using too much bandwith and etc.

This must be a very new feature since I don't know it at all. It is very disappointing that I need to install a software so that I can use this feature. Then what's the advantage of this software? Its result may not even as well as Skype, MSN and so on. As they are much more professional for online chatting. I am not very interested in trying this new feature from Facebook because I don't think it is something exciting. I love China

Well this is really are a new feature. But Facebook actually never make any announcement about this, in e-mail or in our inbox. I know it from the facebook chat, i see a new account which show a video call options in the facebook chat. I upload the print screen in my main post. Hope it help you found it. Anyway, from the previous comment, i read that facebook video call and skype using the same platform, so i think it will be as good as skype. Because for me Skype is the best software for Video Call, i think it will be great. But since most of my friend in facebook never set up the video call, i think it will be a while before i ever us that function.

I am not aware of this feature on Facebook. I wonder what the difference is really between that one and say, Skype...I rarely log in to FB these days due to lack of time. I will be interested in checking out how many of my friends will take advantage of video calling on Facebook. Good to know...

Well you actually not the only one. There is a lot of people who doesn't know that this feature is exist. I think because facebook never really make any big announcement about this. I never actually try it too since i don't have any friend in facebook who already set it up. I guess We will need some more time to see some review.

Downloaded and installed, but haven't used it. I don't think I'll use it in the near future, unless my mother-in-law got really good in using Facebook, but then she use Skype, so I don't really see her switching to Facebook just for the Video Call. She does that on Skype, so I don't think she will bother FB Video.

Oh, so you like to communicate with your mother in law using facebook and skype? Well this is strange, because from what i know, most people doesn't really close with their mother in law ( or am i watching too much drama ). Anyway good for you, and like you i think i will stick with skype. Thanks for responding to this discussion.
