This is true. And this has been true for a long time now. Mandarin, indeed is the most spoken language in the world. Yes, the population of China might have a contribution to this. It's amazing that there are a lot of countries that treat English as their mother tongue but still English has not surpassed Mandarin.

If it's true, then we better learn how to speak Mandarin too.It looks like it's such a difficult language though.

that doesnt surprise me much. the only thing is, i think it would be very hard to learn our kids and young people should probably learn it though since you never know when it could be needed every where.

I guess it could be true, maybe because almost every country in the world had Chinese businessman who practice their trade or choose to live in that place to look for greener pasture. Also maybe because their population is too many so some are scattered to different places in the world carrying with them their native tongue as their means of communication with fellow Chinese.

It has been a long time since my last response. I'm Chinese ,I'm very happy you talk about this. 3 years ago, I met Indian navy in China when they came here to attend the Navy Festival.I took a photo with two of them ,they are very handsome^-^ And they asked me about how to learn Chinese, actually it's not so difficult . And there are many Indian students learning medical at our university.
