i adore eating sometimes something in the street, when i am hurry or just i see something what look iresistible, or smell so good. I am not a great eater, but i like to look to people, who buy some food and sit in the park to eat, and talk or just feel relax and free in street, not in a restaurant, to wait hours to eat something. Are you shy to eat a ice cream in a street, why? Is safe? Why not if is clean, and you can feel closer with nature and people?

Like everyone, I enjoy eating of course, but I rarely eat without definite purpose, the removal of hunger. So, I almost never eat in the streets. Although sometimes I will, just to slake hunger, usually just a snack such as crisps or peanuts, but not for pleasure. Recently though I was on my way home with food and I bumped into a friend, and decided to join him for lunch in a park. But it's a rarity for me. I am usually so concentrated on my tasks, that eating gets in the way, and I'll starve for as long as I can, gulping down tea, coffee or recently, other hot drinks to keep hunger at bay. Or I'll snack, eating as I rush around the place as I work. Finally, when my work is done, I'll eat a large meal, and this effectively spells the end of my day because afterwards I'll be very tired, fit only for collapsing in front of a movie or something. I'm really not a great eater at all...and yet, when I do, I like to enjoy it...really: I do like food; it's just that I like being busy more!

Hi. I don't eat when I'm not hungry. And I rarely eat between meals other than to kill hunger with a snack...but! I love sugar (with coffee etc.), and when I do eat, I can eat quite a lot! Also, I like chocolate and other fattening foods. And I don't exercise enough. I could do with a change too: eat more, and healthier. Good luck, Alvaro.

Hi Carl: That's an interesting answer. Actually I was thinking that I need to be a little bit more like you. I eat for pleasure and that's a problem. Though I try to stay fit, just eat in the right hours and do some exercise but it's a big, big temptation for me to go and eat even if I am not really hungry. ALVARO

It's fine for me to eat anything I like on parks but I seldom buy and eat something on the street unless I don't have a choice. It's not that I'm ashamed about it,it's just street food are not that clean. You may have gastrointestinal problems from contaminated street food.

Hi karee madivina: You are so right. Another problem about buying food on the street is that you don't know what you are eating, not only because of the products but because they don't have the right places to prepare food with hygienic conditions. ALVARO

We can't even know what the restaurant put in our food.Compared to the street food, both should be considered as not clean then. The food we make at home always be the best.(^^)

I eat on the street sometimes depends on the place. If there is a street food that I like I bought it and eat it while walking. I think it's not really that clean but few bacteria wont kill you. But also I choose food that I buy.

Agree with you Belle! We can't even be so sure that the restaurant food is hundred percent clean. I know some of the restaurant they have a really bad and dirty kitchen but the customers will not know about it.(^^)

No I not feel shy while eating on street but if somebody is standing besides me then I offered him/her to eat with me. Because I am not eating anything alone so my family member is with me or husband with me and feel relax when they are with me.

Hi paha: I know what you mean. In my case for example, I love eating an ice cream while I'm walking in the street. It's made me feel free for a reason and enjoy the city. ALVARO

I don't like eating on the street at all. Even if I'm really hungry, I almost never do it. I just hate people seeing me when I'm eating. Even though I know people aren't just staring at me, just knowing that someone could see me makes me uncomfortable. The only time I don't mind as much is if I'm with someone who is also eating. But even then, I'm not completely relaxed.

I do enjoy picking up something when I am out. As long as the place I am getting it from looks tidy and clean, I have no problem with it. I don't mind a bit to have something in public and the park is a great place to enjoy it.

Hi icesmile! Yes, I feel a little bit shy but it does not mean I will not eat that way. Actually there were many times I do that since the restaurant get full with people so we just make a take away order, bring the food outside, find any proper place to sit, on the bench etc and eat. Ice cream?? Many times eating it outside..We can't just stand and see the ice cream stall passing by.(^^)

I think there is no difference between eating in the streets, and eating in a restaurants. The cooking oils are used over and over again. It is just the environment that is different. I personally like eating in the streets. It is so informal, and I can actually be myself. I just love it.

Hello. I like eating on the street. Some because I was in a hurry. Some because I get used to it since I was a kid. And some other because in Jakarta, lots of food seller on the street which has no table and chair, that's why most of the time, people here also eating on the street. Sometimes they just sit on pedestrian and enjoy the food. What's wrong with eating on the street while you are walking to some place. But sometimes, I am thinking that how if I become a manager or higher position. Will I still enjoy eating on the street or would I feel ashamed? I have no idea. At the moment, I just enjoy everything I want to do :-)

It is safe it you know it's prepared well and in a clean place. I do eat street food especially kwek-kwek (quail's egg wrapped in flour and then deep-fried), tempura, fish ball, I also enjoy ice cream and "ginabot" (deep fried pig's intestine). I love street food. I also enjoyed eating them when I was in Bangkok with my family. We usually eat the fruit salads and corn and those oily stuff. :D

I actually can't enjoy eating on the street not because I am shy or what but rather I am more concerned about dust or any insect coming into my food. We have a polluted environment and eating in an open air is something really quite risky. Even in restaurants I avoid those open places because of this reason. It looks cool when you just sit and eat on a park but to me I'd rather just eat in a closed and dust-free environment.

I've never been too shy to eat on the street, and am happy to eat a snack or even a full meal if I find that I don't have the time to sit down somewhere and eat it. I think that it's very useful to do this during your lunch hour if you have other things that you have to do, as it means that you don't have to waste too much time eating your lunch as you can just have it on the move. It's also good for having a snack between lectures if you only have a couple of minutes before you next class is supposed to start.

Hi ice smile: Though it's always cleaner to eat in your own house because you have the possibility to chose the products you eat, as you have said, sometimes is like a big temptation to eat on the street, specially when you see the food you adore. I love to eat in a fast food restaurant placed on the street in my town but at the same time I try not to do it very often because it's junk food. ALVARO

In times like this it's not odd to eat on the street. I eat a lot on the street because I am in a bit of hurry. Studying, working and etc. Street food is tasty for sure but I think it's not safe for you stomach.

here in my country, i don't like eating ice cream while i'm on the street..because of the pollution..i don't like licking my ice cream but the polluted air touches my ice cream..it's like eating the pollution..but it's very ironic because i sometimes eat selected street foods (and ice cream, for me is not a street food)..it is very common here..and i mean street foods are those foods where vendors cook and sell it just on the sidewalks where many public and private vehicles passes..i don't know what's their difference..
