Good day dear fellow mylotters, I just noticed recently that I find it hard to sleep. Perhaps due to a lot of problems that keeps on joggling around my mind. And due to this, I need to listen first to a music before going to bed to sleep. As I cannot fell asleep if I dont listen first to some songs. As a result, I left my player open though it was set into an auto-shut off when the music has been all played. Nevertheless, I must really have a music played before, so I can get a better sleep.

You never can really sleep if your mind has lots of things running. And in your case, it is music that can divert it and eventually get to sleep. That's good, because when you finally gets to sleep , you are relaxed. Hence, the eventuality of nightmare is nil.

I agree. The music does not put him to sleep but rather its calm him down enough so that he can go to sleep. I think its more on stress that why you can't sleep. Try not to listen to a music before you go to bed but on that day don't do any work. Just go to the park. Enjoy yourself setting down. If you can sleep without listen to the music then I think its stress.

Seriously, it's really hard to sleep when our mind is busy in thinking lots of things. It's just kinda impossible thing. But music is the great solution for it. N i guess soft songs are really favorite on these situations. Isn't it...? But frankly speaking i don't have to do anything if i can't sleep, i just open a book and start reading it. N seriously at that i feel like i haven't slept from months. So i don't need a music to sleep but ya whenever i need to fresh my mind from any of the problems, Music is the only best solution for me.

Good day to you Ankit_Sharma, I also read a book before sleeping whenever I cannot play the music since my mom will hear it especially at night. As I will read a few pages on it, then, after sometime, I will feel sleepy.

I take a bath before I go to sleep every night simply because I feel itchy if I don't take a shower and that the reason why I can't sleep. But candles? I think if theirs a candle light. I can't sleep. Because stats say most fire come from candle lights!.. he he he!

Yes a good book aides in relaxation. Candles and a bath too. Music has to be at a low level and calming not to disrupt my sleep.

See I am the exact opposite. I do really like music during the day more than a lot of things. The key word is during the day. There are just something about listening to music at the night that just irritates me. I really have no idea why that might be, but that is just going to be the way that it is. There are times where music tends to get me all excited and that is rather not a good thing to say the least when I am going to sleep. There are times where I need to calm my mind. And my mind can really be focused with a lot of things. So therefore as much as I enjoy music, it is just something that I don't like to listen to too late at night. If that is something that other people enjoy, then that is really great for them. Different strokes for different folks at all. However, the music at night is just going to be something that is going to just misdirect my focus.

Wow! Really? I guess everyone needs something before they hit the sack. I always have a nice glass of milk before I go to sleep, I just go on without it! I also watch a bit of TV before I go brush my teeth and prepare for bed. Interesting how you listen to music before going to bed. Does it soothe you down a little to make you sleep better? Everyone has a unique habit, some people need to do certain things before they can have a good night's sleep. I sometimes find it troubling to sleep, if that happens, I just start imagining a whole story in my head like a whole adventure which eventually will tire my brain out and I'll sleep. It's kinda like inventing a mental story in my head before I sleep.

My mom always say this. If you can't sleep at night devil will going to play with your mind. lols. Imagining things in your head at night is look like safe. But do you know that its can be deadly also? he he he he. What if suddenly something mysterious and evil inter your mind?! who! ha! ha! ha!. and suddenly you go to the chicken and take a knife!.. and cut a leg of the first thing you see and think its was food!... Happy Halloween!

Why do you have sleeping problem also? Because if you don't have sleeping problem then theirs no way its will going to work. he he he!. Theirs so many factors that we can't sleep, one is that we are hungry, two is that we don't take a bath and we feel uncomfortable in bed and three stress.

I feel your pain, you have that long to do list too! Sometimes you just need a break from the media, chores, traffic etc. I find music most soothing at any time of day. If you find your mind working overtime during bedtime. Try this, lay down and imagine yourself doing something you enjoy. Like walking on the beach with your feet in the sand in 90 degree weather.

Hi there Ollanna, That is really relaxing. And if somebody will think or imagine that situation, for sure, he/she will get a good sound sleep. As the mind will be relaxed and soothe.

I have to listen to soft music before I got to sleep and since i dont really want to keep my phone playing music the whole night I keep it on a 15 minutes timer and it automatically shuts after that time frame....I have developed this habit over the years I guess and I think even scientifically they say its a good thing to listen to music while you sleep.....:)

Me its the other way around. If I listen to music I can't sleep that's why when I was still in high school and college what I do is listen to the music when I'm studying so that I will not going to go to sleep. And take note. I only listen to a mellow songs. lols.

It is true that listening to music is a good way to help sleep. What type of music do you listen before sleep? I recommend some gentle and soft songs or pure music. For me, I usually doing some reading before asleep.

it is a terrible feeling to have a sleepless night. However, for me, it seems as if I have not experienced this matter before, if I were in this position, I would listen some soft music and do some body building which can make me sleep heavily.
