Childhood dreams about travelling

It is one of my big dreams to visit India one day and it is a dream that I have had ever since I was a child. When I was about 8 years old my parents and I often visisited one of my classmates and her parents. They had been to India many times and their house was full of pictures from India and things that they had bought in India. When we visited them they often talked about their trips to India. I was only a child at that time, but when I listened to the stories about their experiences I started dreaming about visiting India myself. I asked my parents, but they said that the plane ticket was too expensive and that I would have to wait. Now I am an adult and I still haven't given up my dream about visiting India one day. When we get rid of some of the debt that we have it will probably be easier to find the money for travelling. Is there a country that you always dreamed about visiting when you were a child? What country was it and why did you want to visit that country? Have you been able to fullfill the dream from your childhood?

When I was younger I used to watch american movies so in that very young age I already fell in love to the beautiful america.Snow does not exist in my place so whenever I watched movies when I was young with snow I got very frustrated. So I told to myself that I would experience the snow someday, but until now I haven't fulfilled my dream because I am still very young. And I actually haven't finished college and gotten a job so it is yet impossible for me to travel. I live in Philippines so I haven't experienced snow.

The climate in Philippines is very different from the climate in my country. I live in a country with a cold climate and we have snow almost every winter. I hope that your wish will come true at that you will get the chance to see snow in person one day. I also watched American movies when I was younger, they are very popular in my country (Denmark) I have never been to America, but I would like to go there. I wish I had a lot of money to spend on travelling

I think that snow is both good at bad. It is a nice feeling to go for a walk while it is snowing, the snow creates a different atmosphere and it is a beautiful sight when everything is covered in snow. The children love to play in the snow. They build snowmen, have snowball fights, go sledding etc. When I was a child I loved all those things. The bad things about snow are the problems that is creates. It makes driving dangerous and difficult, and sometimes the cars get stuck in the snow. That happened to us twice last year, and it was very difficult to get the car out of the snow.

I hope that I will be able to fulfill that dream. I have often thought about it, but so far a trip like that has been too expensive for me. I have heard that travelling in India isn't so expensive compared travelling in Europe, but I still need to pay for the plane tickets for my husband and me. I hope that I can save up the money when we get rid of our debt

I have a friend from Chennai and he has invited me to visit him and his family a long time ago, so when I go to India I will definately spend some time in Chennai, that is the only thing that I know for sure. Before or after I visit my friend I want to travel around in the southern part of India and visit other places. I would also like to visit Taj Mahal, that is not close to my friend's home, but I hope that it will still be possible to go there.

When I was a child I dreamed about traveling around the world when I grew up. I wanted to see lots of different countries and the one I wished to see most of all was Australia. I had a globe and saw the Equator, Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. We did a school project about Nigeria and Canada. I had a book about a little girl that lived in Delft in the Netherlands. I visited Australia at 20 to 21 years old and it was just as amazing that I wanted it to be. The sight of Sydney from the air took my breath away. I went to Sumatra on my way home and stood on the Equator. I visited Vancouver in Canada last year and always imagined I would go to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island first. It is a lovely country and just as beautiful as I had imagined in my childhood. When I studied in the Netherlands I went out for the day to pretty Delft. Good luck achieving your dream to visit India.

It is inspiring to read about your trips and the places that you have visited. I share your dream about travelling around the world. Many years ago I bought a guidebook about Asia and started reading about the different places. I haven't been able to visit Asia yet, but it is still one of my big dream to travel around in Asia for several months. I would also like to visit Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Canada, the US, Central America and South America. The list of countries that I would like to visit is very long

hi porcospino. yeah, travelling has been a childhood dream for me as well. i have a lot of places i want to go to. now as a child, i do remember wanting to visit the great wall of china. this remains a dream for me and although i know i have the means to go to china and go to the great wall, i still need to work on my schedule to accomplish this. of course, i have other priorities as well so those need to be sorted out. anyway, my fascination for the great wall of china stemmed from the numerous books and stories i have read when i was a child. i imagine being part of the hordes of huns led by attila out to conquer everything in its path!!! lol! anyway, i do hope that you get to visit india and i get to visit china and see the great wall of china within the next year or so. here's to our dream travels!

I hope that yout dream about China will come true I am interested in visiting China, too. When I was in Elementary school I wrote an assignment about China and I remember reading about the great wall and some of the other famous places in China. It was fascinating to read about those places and dream about visiting them in person one day. So far I have never been to Asia, but is the one of my dreams. If I had the money I would travel around in Asia for many months and visit many different places.

hi porcospino. i actually started writing down my travel plans as part of the goals that i want to achieve next year. so far, i have the trip to china, a trip to hong kong disneyland with my daughter, a gambling trip to macau, and a trip to singapore to watch the f1 race there. i also included a trip to brazil for the next world cup! not saying that putting these goals in paper will guarantee its success, just saying that it helps me keep track of my plans and goals. anyway, may all our travel plans come to fruition within our lifetime! cheers!!!

As a child I had always wanted to visit Hong Kong. I had a few friends who went there for vacation coz their parents lived there. I had always wondered how it was and their pictures looked really good and left good impressions about Hong Kong in me. And a few years back, one of my best friends also moved to Hong Kong and that has wanted me to visit Hong Kong more than ever. I wish I had enough money so i could go there and visit him. I am probably going there next year but I am not too sure about it. And I also have wanted to visit Las Vegas. Not my childhood dream but just some years ago recently

Hong Kong would be a very interesting place to visit. I hope that you will be able to visit your friend in Hong Kong I have thought about including Hong Kong in my itinerary when I visit Asia. I thought that I needed a visa to in order to enter Hong Kong, but I just checked it and I would actually be able to visit Hong Kong without a visa if I only stay for a short time. Las Vegas could be interesting, too. I have never been to the US, but I would love to travel around in the US for a couple of months and visit some of the famous and interesting places.

Growing up I always dreamed of going to Ireland. From the pictures I've seen, it's such a beautiful place, and I love the way they talk so that helps too :). I've never been able to go there, but it's a place that my husband wants to visit as well. So hopefully one day, after the kids are grown, me and my husband will be able to set out on a new adventure to Ireland and see what it's like.

I was planning on visiting the UK and Ireland in 2013, but we don't have a lot of money to spend on travelling at the moment we have decided to to visit London and postpone the visit to Ireland. I also think that Ireland would be an interesting place to visit and I haven't given up the idea of going there one day. It nice that your husband and you are both interested in going to Ireland, I hope that it will be possible for your to visit Ireland in the future.

I have always wanted to go to France, or Africa. These are 2 of my places I would Love to go visit. Since my Health might be the biggest factor even besides money not sure this will ever happen. Will have to also get a Passport first as well, but this actually might be something I will eventually consider. To be able to travel abroad and see another country would be exciting for sure.

A visit to India would be like a dream come true. My friend has invited me to visit him and his family in Chennai long time ago, but so far it hasn't been possible for me to go. If I go to India I also want to visit other parts of the country and travel around in India for some time. I really hope that my dream will come true one day in the future I have been to Paris and London, and I like both cities a lot. In Paris we went to the top of the Eiffel tower, it was a great to visit the place in person. In London I also went sightseeing and visited many different places. In 2012 or 2013 I am going to visit London again. As I live in Denmark is very easy to go London and we usually sail from Denmark to England. I hope that you will also get the chance to visit Paris and London

I hope that your dream will come true one day I remember the time when I was on a plane for the first time. I was travelling with my parents and I was very excited about flying for the first time. My mother didn't share my excitement, because she was afraid of flying and just wanted to get back to the ground as fast as possible. It was a domestic flight, and we didn't spend much time on the plane, but to me it was a like a adventure because I hadn't tried it before.

Spain is a very nice place. I visited the southern part of the Spain some years ago. We visitied some beautiful places and the I loved the Spanish climate. It is much more pleasant than the cold climate that we have in my own country Next time I get the chance to visit Spain I want to go to Barcelona and Madrid, and I also plan on crossing the border to Portugal while I am there. I have never been to Portugal and I would like to see the country. I hope that you get the chance to visit Spain in the future..

Hi Porcospino, my childhood dream is to go to "America" because as of my curiosity speak up that time "how beautiful america was?" why we as member of a 3rd world country is very hard to secure visa to visit USA so in my young mind that was inculcated until I reached my age now. The truth I had been 3X refusal in applying for a visitor's visa, our family pending petition might be the reason. So I did not applied again just waiting now for our visa number and a couple of months from now on and if God permit, I could see now the beauty of America and the good thing is together with my family.

I am sorry to hear that it has been so difficult for you to get a visa to America. I hope that your dream about America will come true in the future. I have never thought about applying for a visa to America because I am happy to live in Europe, but I hope to visit America as a tourist one day. There are a lot of places that I would like to visit, and I think that it could be really interesting to travel around for a while and visit a lot of different places.

That sounds like a good plan. I want to do the same thing. It will take me a while to save up the money for travelling, but I think it is worth the hard work. I have never been to Japan, but it is one of the countries that I would like to visit one day, because I have some Japenese friends who have invited me a long time ago. It would be really nice to see them again, and I also look forward to exploring the different parts of Japan.
