wedding song for a friend's wedding

Friend's wedding - This will be my first time going to a friend's wedding **woop**

Hello everyone I am so very excited and I've got two reasons. One, my friend is getting married this month and two, she asked me if I could sing a song for her wedding This is a really happy and big thing for me and I want to do it right :) I have been excited ever since but I am having a hard time choosing a song. So please dear mylotters, can you suggest me some wedding songs? I had actually selected "Forever and for always" by Shania Twain but the lyrics somehow go like the wife singing it to the husband or the other way round. I would like to sing something that would be like from a third person, singing to the lucky two. So dear mylotters, please suggest me some good evergreen wedding songs. Some modern wedding songs will be fine too. Thanks a bunch **hugs**

Hi thatgirl! Wow, you must really have a good voice!!! I'm so curious! I'm happy for your friend as well as for you! I think singing to your friend's wedding would be a great gift for her. Do your best! I have two good friends who will be getting married this December. One will have Bon Jovi's All About Lovin' You as their wedding song, and the other one, I forgot but she previously considered Terrified, a duet sang by two American Idol finalists. I don't know many wedding songs but the song by Shania Twain that you have selected already sound good for me. Good luck!

I very much love singing and anything that has to do with music. I wouldn't say I have a really good voice but I do try to do my best hehe! And thanks for the wish. I will try to do my best I listened the song "Terrified" and absolutely loved it. I think your friend has made an awesome choice What about you? What's your wedding song?

Omg I absolutely love that song and I had forgotten about it lol It's a song sang by a famous singer here named Lee Seung Gi. The title of the song is "khyoron hey julle", which means "Will you marry me". The lyrics is so beautiful You should check the singer out. He is a really good singer The second song is of Choi Jung Chul featuring Ga-in (one of my favourite singers). You can check the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcLjFPFBg7w

Wow,so you're going to be the wedding singer eh! Exciting! When I got married,it was my brother who sang the songs in our wediing and he sang all our theme songs when me and my hubby are in a "relationship stage" yet. Maybe you can ask your friend if they have theme songs so you can also include them in your list. It made me smile hearing our theme songs in our very special ceremony and I'm sure your friend will feel it too!

Hi!...I do, Cherish You by 98 degrees has lovely messages too. Though it's a boy band, I guess its will turn out good also on a female version

I think this way, if you like a song sing it. The one you originally picked is a good one but if you are uncomfortable with it then look for another of course. I think in song singing in general there are two considerations. The singer should believe in the song and feel passionate about it and the audience should be involved as they see a relationship between the song and what is going on, in this case, the song says something about the character of the wedding party. In other words, you know them so you could ask yourself what song best suits them as ‘their song’? The rest of the wedding in attendance will think of the bride and groom as they listen to the song so you might decide on your gift with that in mind. congrats and have fun thatgirl - the most important thing of all

hi thatgirl! I would like to suggest The Prayer by Josh Groban. It is better if you will have a duet for this song. ^_^ There are plenty of wedding songs but it is a bit hard to find something that is in 3rd person. :) I am excited for you! I wish we could hear your voice too ^_^

Why not ask the bride and the groom of what is their favorite song? It will be more memorable to them if you will sing their theme song... good luck and best wishes to you friend.... :)

Dear friend, please listen to Mark Schultz's "He was walking her home". I didn't read the previous comments from other mylot-ters but I hope I wasn't the only person who suggests this. (I will make my bestfriend/exlover sing this for my wedding next year. God Bless you.

Wow! This post got me excited. It's my sister's wedding on the 9th. Unfortunately, she lives in a very far place and I cannot go. THe news came too soon as well so everything has been prepared and if I were there I would want to help in the planning. Anyway, I was going to suggest "We've Only Just Begun" by the Carpenters and "Till There was You" by the Beatles then I read that you want the song to be using third person. It is kinda hard to think of a song in the third person.

Hi there...what a fabulous and exciting time for you. Congrats! I always thought it was a fairly significant point that the happy couple choose the songs for their wedding. You might choose something one or the other is not happy with. I'd ask them what they would like you to sing for them.

"An Affair to Remember" by Nat King Cole. This may be an old song but the lyrics and tempo is so heart warming. Another suggestion would be "On This Day" by David Pomeranz. You may find these songs to Youtube. Good luck to your singing and congratulations to your friends. May they have a successful happy marriage forever.

Wow, if your friend ask you to sing her wedding song then perhaps you got a nice singing voice. Well, I could suggest some song but why not relate it to the love story of the couple and find a song that fit or even retelling their story. It could make the wedding so memorable for everybody.

I'm so excited for you as well. That is such an awesome privilege that your friend is giving you. I can't even begin to imagine what song would be good. But I'm sure with all the help from other mylotters and your own ideas you will think of a great one. I agree that a third person song would be good. If I think of anything later I will let you know. Right now my mind is blank. But I wanted to say congratulations to you. And I hope that you do an awesome job and enjoy the wedding.

Am I late?! I hope not I always envy people who can sing! I want to sing but seems like music hates me. I highly recommend Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses" since it contains very touching lyrics between a father-daughter relationship. Sorry but I can't search for the song here since I'm still at my workplace :( Maybe you can check the song out on YouTube. Anyway, here's the lyrics of the song. There's two things I know for sure She was sent here from heaven And she's daddy's little girl As I drop to my knees by her bed at night She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes And I thank God for all of the joy in my life Oh but most of all For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair Walk beside the pony daddy it's my first ride I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried Oh with all that I've done wrong I must have done something right To deserve a hug every mornin' And butterfly kisses at night Sweet 16 today She's lookin' like her mama a little more every day One part woman the other part girl To perfume and make up from ribbons and curls Trying her wings out in a great big world But I remember Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair You know how much I love you daddy But if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the check this time Oh with all that I've done wrong I must have done something right To deserve her love every mornin' And butterfly kisses at night All the precious time Like the wind the years go by Precious butterfly Spread your wings and fly She'll change her name today She'll make a promise and I'll give her away Standing in the bride room just staring at her She asked me what I'm thinkin' And I said I'm not sure I just feel like I'm loosin' my baby girl And she leaned over Gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair Walk me down the isle daddy It's just about time Does my wedding gown look pretty daddy? Daddy don't cry Oh with all that I've done wrong I must have done something right To deserve her love every mornin' And butterfly kisses I couldn't ask God for more than this is what love is I know I've got to let her go but I'll always remember Every hug in the mornin' and butterfly kisses

This is so exciting... your friend asking you to sing at her wedding got me thinking you CAN sing! Would love to hear you singing, girl! I could not actually think of a song that you can sing for the two. I normally think about wedding songs that a couple can sing for each other. I will surely PM you once I find out one good song. But speaking of weddings, if my future groom sings me a song, it would have to be Marry Me by Train.. the words are very simple and straight to the point.. what makes me love the song more is the voice of Train's lead vocalist Patrick Monahan!
