Hi everyone, As a blind person I am truly inspired so much by Star Wars. Talking computer, force power that enables us to see without sight, and many more. When I was young it was my favorite story of all time, and it encouraged me to learn many things (how to use computer, how to sharpen my senses, etc). Until today I finally get all what I've dreamed of. Talking computer? Well this is what I am using to post this topic and browse the internet. Ability to use lightsaber and see without sight? Probably not as good as a real Jedi, but at least I can manage a bit. Anyway, this is my video when I demonstrate my so-called "Jedi ability." As a blind person I am happy that I can do it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5iORgRXDKg My question is; if Star Wars really exists, then am I qualified to become a blind Jedi Knight?

I saw your comment on another subject and that you were blind. I wondered how you could post being blind. A talking computer. That's pretty impressive. Are you totally blind or do you see to some degree? While Stars Wars is an imaginary story, it contain many truths in it. Some of the things that are imagination today will be reality one day. As for the blind, a prophet wrote a long time ago: "At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped." And he foresaw many other wonderful things when it comes to physical disabilities. When you have some time, read or listen to all of Isaiah chapter thirty-five. There are websites online where you can do that. Jesus Christ when he was on earth cured instantly cure many disabilities and sicknesses. What you "saw" on Star Wars will pale into insignificance compared to the reality that is yet to come. All the best!

I am totally blind, and I can operate the computer using screen reader program that talks to me, so all text on screen is read by it. What a wonderful and religious comment. Thanks and my God always be with you. :)

Hi Ram, So, you cold communicate via the web even you can't see the keyboard. That's cool, I have to keep two eyes open on mine to type this. If you can do that, you can also be a Jedi Knight. I noticed they don't really rely on the eyes to perceive the things around them. In fact, most martial artists and spiritual masters close their eyes to focus on the most important aspects of their practice, that is to "see what is unseen (by the naked eye)". Blinds have that ability, being perpetually deprived by the ability to see the world through the sense of sight, the other senses naturally evolved to take over, which are not limited by physical barriers such as hearing, smelling and feeling. Sadly, Stars Wars happened "a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away," Who knows, it could also happen to us here....

Hahaha that is so awesome. I have a son that is blind and I always tell him that he can be pretty much anything in life. So I would say yes go fot it and be a Jedi Knight. Hmmm mind you I do not actually think that they exist. But good luck anyways.

Well yeah I know Star Wars does not exist in real life. But at least, just like I mentioned above, that we could take something useful from it. Your son must be pretty tough there, and I believe you are such a tough mother, too! Send my best regards to your family, and also say hello to your son!
