I received an email that made me think. What if we purchased as much as possible of gifts made in America. It may be difficult but what would happen if people bought gift cards that supported local merchants. It is said that every dollar you spend locally it generates $6 in the community. Need a Christmas gift consider a gift card from a local merchant, you will be helping your neighbor and helping the economy of your community.

Hi Bobmnu, yes I like the idea of buying our Christmas gifts from US made products as well as boycotting all foreign made products. I think it would help even more if companies that have outsourced our manufacturing plants to overseas workers should be severely penalized. These are drastic steps but our economy is in drastic need of change.

I like the idea but I am a little skeptical about how far this can go. I have also heard that much of the stuff that is made in America actually gets ingredients/parts etc. from other countries. Even some of our favorite restaurants and such that we consider to be from America are actually from overseas corporations. I will give it a shot but I can't make any promises.
