I would be honest, although it is better to give than to receive, I feel so happy and excited whenever a box from abroad arrives. An aunt and a cousin abroad would sometimes send us a big box . In it, there would be lipsticks , perfumes, lotions and soaps among other things. We would open it , at night when everybody has arrived from work. Everyone is excited to see what’s in store for them. I must admit, that though we have those things here in the Philippines, but them being imported makes us want them so much. At this early, I am already excited of a box that an aunt has sent for us . How i wish i could pull the days so it would arrive already.

Yes, the hugeness of the box and imagining how many presents are there for everyone, makes everybody excited, most of all me. And to think that there are lots of lipsticks in there as she said, so it means it would be more than two each for me and my mother-in-law because our daughter isn't using lipstick yet.

Ang sarap kasi ng maraming lipsticks! (It's indeed so nice to have lots of lipsticks) You can have a different shade according to you mood or shade of your clothes.

Yes, you can even if you don't have a relative from abroad. I remembered when i was still single and my boyfriend works in Dubai. He would once in a while surprise me with a small box from him. In it would be perfumes, towels, walkman and soaps. And when Valentine and my birthday comes, bunches of flowers would arrive complete with singing messenger. His mother would send it to me from here in the Philippines , of course at his prodding.

Correct jazel! Though last year, my daughter received a pink thick hooded woolen jacket , which she don't like because of the color. She gave it to me and left for Manila. But i don't like it either. So, i sold it to my officemate, at the Dollar tag price converted to pesos. I gave the money to my daughter . At least, she liked that!

It is not the value of the gift but the spirit of that is what is important. we feel happy our relative has sent a gift and hence we feel happy.

Actually, the fact that we were thought of, by sending a gift is what really counts. But for me, it would count more if the gift is something that i could make use of .

That's so nice to hear. Good for you and for your relative who has something in that package. I agree, imported items would feel nicer than the one we have here locally but always consider quality aswell. I think what's really making it nice is the fact that it was given to you by someone you also value. Yuletide season is definitely nearing and I myself is so excited about the activites we are preparing. For your families abroad, don't forget to send them a postcard, even just the one you can do in Microsoft paint to shows your appreciation of all their sacrifices.

Yes, in return, we would also buy some native products and have it sent abroad. They like receiving native products and would boast them to their friends abroad.
