How often do you rate people on mylot?

For new members in mylot, you can check on the guidelines or FAQ of mylot. I'm referring to those symbols next to people's comments the + - ! I often rate people on mylot. I start a discussion with a question. And if they were able to answer it and it was informative and helpful, not just random sharing about oneself, I click on the + sign as a form of thanks. Because I don't usually reply to people who respond on my discussions. I only used the - once. And that was when a certain mylotter offended me by a sarcastic comment which clearly didn't offer any good information regarding the discussion. (but i won't rant here, I probably will in another discussion)

I don't actually rate people that often and I barely do the best responses! I do place tags on almost every discussion I reply to, and I try to give nice, qualitative responses! It's very cool that you have only give one negative and the rest, positive ratings because that shows your generosity for the activity received on your discussions! Now thatnthis was brought to my attention, I shall began rating replies as well! :)

I rarely do that. I only reply on their posts. I haven't tried giving a - on any comment. That is their opinion so I will just have to respect it. If you think the post is not helpful, you better ignore them. Like dellessimon45, I put tags after I post a comment. Thanks!

hi aja as a long time user here let me tell you if you really want to earn making discussions do comment back to all the responses as you will only get paid for what you yourself type. we made the responses and we get the pay so you want to earn there you do make comments back and rate in every thing you do . this way if you find a discussion and do not remember if you responded check to see if its been rated, if you rated it you have already responded to the discussion.I rate people on all posts where i respond and on my own discussions where i comment back the rating helps move our stars up and helps us earn better as our reputation is figured in t he mylot earnings algorithm. we are all supposed to rate all the time as a matter of habit.oh admins says in comments do not thank people as that kind of comment will not be paid, so actually comment on the response, say what you think about what we said to you, agreeing or not agreeing both are good.

thanks, Hatley! I think i understand it better now after you said that i ought to respond to people in my discussions than merely rating them. I checked the discussion guidelines again and found out you were actually correct. I thought it wouldn't be fruitful to reply to all who respond to my discussions. I did that before and got a headache for typing and reading too much. From now on, I will reply to anyone if I had something to say to them. And rate them if i see their posts or responses as informative and beneficial!

I rate everyone who responds to my discussions. Irrespective of whether I have responded or not. If I do not like the response I will just ignore it but never mark a negative. After all everyone is free to air their own opinions. I also mark responses read on others discussions as much as possible.

I don´t usually rate people unless their answer is really good or their answer is very rude and unthoughtful. For the rest, I don´t mind as I have respect for their thoughts.

Rating people does seem to be a silly thing. I don't think I have ever really thought all that much about those buttons. I think that part of the reason is that while they are intended to rate how they impact the quality of the website, I can't trust myself not to bring my own biases into the equation. There are just times where it's just best that I don't do something, because it's just going to lead to a little bit of trouble. I'm sure many people are using those ratings for all of the right reasons. And I'm sure for many of the wrong reasons as well. It is one of those things where it exists and I think that for the most part it's used responsibly, due to the fact that I think that many people are in the same boat as I am. They don't use it because they don't trust themselves not to be biased. And trust me when I say if sarcasm bothers you, then you're going to be bugged by a lot on the Internet. That's one of the milder things you'll encounter.

Okay. I should be more tolerant to sarcasm and mean people on the internet. Thanks for informing me, megamatt. I'll rate people more responsibly. it's a good thing i only got to use the negative once, having done it more than that wouldn't be good. I suppose i learned from that experience.

My friend, once you start a discussion, see to it that you comment back on the responses. Your discussion will never earn even if it gets a lot of responses, if you don't comment bank on the responses. I always rate the respondents to my discussions. I like doing that. Somehow , i feel that i owe them when they respond and it's the least that i could do. Like you , i use the (-), to report a double posted response or discussion. I also used it once to report a foul language and insult a discussion starter used to comment back on my response. At least, i am happy that i am able to make use of them accordingly.

My friends, I also noticed that i earn a lot whenever i start discussions and would be deluged with responses. I get so excited seeing my inbox filled with notices of responses. Sometimes, i would start 10 discussions in a day, and i would really be occupied answering all the responses. And would you believe sometimes i earn more than a dollar for that day. So it really motivates me to start discussions. So, i like starting discussions , though, i think my brain has been saturated for topics i can discuss, that i just cannot make more than 10 anymore in a day , 2x a week. Lately, i just cannot think of any discussions anymore.

Okay, SIMPLYD. I'll do as you say. It's a better idea than searching on mylot for topics all the time. It's better to respond within my own discussion because I get to learn more about the discussion and get more information out of the responders. Not to mention, i can make more friends too!

i rarely rate people here in mylot. not even the discussions too. im not after the ratings after all. all i do here is response and read and share, that's all. im not sure if rating people will add to your participation anyway. happy mylotting!

I always rate a comment in my topic. I don't use the neg rate , maybe for very few occasion. It is a must to rate other comments as long as it is for good purposes.

I usually always rate people who respond in my discussion- especially those who have contributed good information, those whom don't, I just leave them and not rate them. But those who go beyond and say bad stuff that are over the top, I rate them down- I rarely do that though.

I rarely rated on people discussion. I did rating or marking someone's discussion as the best as long as the comment are really informative. I usually rated someone comment if he or she frequently make comment on my post.

I don't rate other people everyday. I have used the - a couple of times because these people were violating the guidelines. If I report something I give the -. Usually, if the discussion was superb I give them the +, but that doesn't happen often.

It is a habit of mine to rate all the responses to my discussions even to the ones I do not respond to. To date I have not given anyone a negative rating. Maybe I'm just lucky to get good responses

Hello! Before anything else, I would like to greet you an Advance Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :). I'm a newbie here in Mylot. I made some discussions and many of those readers here response me and I rate them all. I also replied them with a little questions and they certainly answer it with an agreement :). I started to share my opinion to them and that's a good start for me. Well hope I will be rate also. Thanks for the information and I will prefer with it :).

Oh, thanks for reminding me to do that. A good answer, like something informational, deserves a credit. I'd start rating respondents from now on.

I have never used the minus sign. I always use the plus sign whenever I see a good response from a mylotter. I always comment back to the responses that I receive, and I use the plus sign when I see that their answers are good and informative. Even if I am just reading some random discussions, I also use the plus sign whenever I see a good response.

I rarely rate the best response here, since I get very less time for responding to the discussions, I am not rating anyone's response now.
