I recently joined company. =But they cheated me. They told they are going to pay certain amount of money and then they changed it after I join the company. The way they did it was very dramatic. After my interview process is over they they supposed to send an offer letter with salary distribution. But they said it's their common practice that they will give that distribution and appointment on the joining day. But they didn't give that and I asked about that and they said the papers need to be signed and they will give next day. But the very next day they gave me work before just I leave the company and asked me to complete. It became very late and then they gave me too many pages document and asked me to read. As a I have trust on them I just signed the document then after coming to the home i found out that they decreased the amount what they offered me before. It 's shame that a company cheating an employee and forcefully making employee to work.

Hi Siri... That is really bad. Some companies do practise bad business. Can you write to the Head Office? Or are you cheated by HO only??? You better change the company.. If the current company needs you they'll offer the salary that they promised. Here, if I quit my current job (which I'm gonna do), they'll offer promotion or hike or both... LoL.. I work in a hot field- Customer Care Officer... And we can change jobs whnever we need to. Companies here fear to lose an experienced guy... I hope it is the same in your area... Good Luck!!!

Hello Siri, Please don't get me wrong dear but I think you also had a little fault in this. It is also your responsibility to read the whole document/offer letter before signing it. Or at least scan the pages and look for that word salary package and then sign. I believed they have asked you to read the document. It is your right to ask them again about your salary and request to give you the offer they have said before you joined. And if they reasoned out, then try to think if it's just best to leave the company and find another job. I do hope the company only made some typo errors and give you the salary they have originally offered you.

Yes it is always better to ask them about this. Who knows they have only made an error. If it's done on purpose then they might think you will not actually notice it and just sign on it just like what you did so you won't have any claim on this. There are a lot of companies who cheats in the best way they can so we always have to be cautious. Do inform us of what happened after you speak to them about this.

I am really feeling bad and after lot of waiting I got this and I don't wanna lose and as well on the other hand I am really feeling too bad that they did like this. Totally my happiness gone and was feeling very very bad. i will talk to them and don't know what is going to happen. Hope everything goes well.

My question is how do I get out of this problem and will continue the job over there?? How to tackle the situation? It's natural I will tell them politely and but as natural they play their tricks. How to tackle that?

Luckily, that has not been something that I've ever encountered in my life. However, if it was to happen to me, I believe that I would immediately leave the company whether I had another job lined up or not. The reason that I would leave is because of the fact that I want to prove to them that I will not stand to be bullied. If I leave immediately, there is a chance that they will call and offer the original salary that was agreed on, and if they don't, then they don't deserve to have me working for them.

so are u working for the company or not.So did u leave the company? or else are u doing the job.See recently i also joined one ,i also got a full documentation and on the day of joining i got the offer letter.Yes there is difference of salary structure from person to person it can be because the people who get a little high pay are more efficient that us and more worth to thier company. So they do different pay packages. I was not well from a week before my joining ,still i did not miss to go to the documentation etc., But after i took the offer letter i fell ill,i could not go .They called and one of my brother picked up the call, actually i left my mobile in my grandmothers place ,as they asked me to relocate to a nearby place for the job. Then my brother picked up the call (which he should not hav done) said that i am not well and came back to my fathers place. He informed my father ,and my father said all that to me. Again i could not attend their call for the day. Then they did not call me again. Actually there are many things ,or reasons for me to find a job ,and do till the offer letter is in my hand. i needed the job,and i was good at my english and hindi also.Just the feed back i got is that i am dull and not energetic. So i felt that i might not be suitable for the voice process job as i am not that much talkative also. And i never been in a job or around people . If i relocate my father will have problem with food ,but actually he says he can take care of himself.i dont know how much or well he can do that if i am not present in the house. I should be at my grandma house for the job and she has to cook for me for the lunch as the company wil not provide food facility. At least for the training period. I dont want anyone being in trouble due to me. If i am dull and not worth to the company then what and why is the need for me to go and do the job ,facing all the difficulties. Why should i make the workplace unhappy because of me and my problems. i am in such a position that i myself do not know the thing i did is right or wrong. You tell me ,was i wrong ?or am i right ?

It's sad that some company operate out of deceit. Employees are not slave but partners inside the business and should be treated accordingly. I supposed you are now planning to get out or have gotten out of it?

Unfortunately those things do happen and it does sound like you got ripped off. But, is it the company that ripped you off, or was it the employee who was handling your hiring? In this day and age when people feel pressured to make something happen in their job, they bump up against the ethical lines more and more. I imagine that when you complain about this, the company stands by what their employee did and says everything is correct. I also would imagine that if you chose to get a lawyer that their story might change. If you have a good enough case, the company will step back, while shoving that employee out front. Then you will be able to attack full force. Hope it works out. Hate to start a new job feeling you are getting ripped off. That ordinarily doesn't happen until about the 3rd week.

Hi Siri, I'm sorry this happened to you. It's really too bad but a lot of places will take advantage of the fact that most of us don't completely read these long, drawn out contracts and agreements. They will slip little things into these contracts knowing that it's the only way you'd ever "agree"...by trickery. So don't be kicking yourself for that...it could have happened to anyone. How to get out of it? Did it say anywhere in the contract about how long you had to work there? If not, then I would chalk this up to a hard lesson learned and work while keeping my eyes open for another job. As soon as you find one, then you can quit and let this company know exactly why you are leaving. I'd also get the word out about this company to others.

Too bad that company like that exist, we really have to read all the documents before signing anything unless you accept it. I was also cheated by my boss when we are starting, they will promise you everything but when the time comes, they will ask for your patience. If only it is easy to find a job.

It is bad. It's your first day and it's also too early to quit. You need a job. Just live with the company a while and if you're sure, you tried to find another while you're working there.

I think you should quit if the contract allows you, because if they are doing that to you now, imagine what are they going to you later,,so maybe you still have time to run away of that scam company. I wish you the best friend.

Hi Siri, thats a real bad situtation..it seems really really more difficult to find honesty in the world today, there use to be a time when ones word was worth as much as anything ,but not any more...thats terribe for a compamy to do that to anyone especially to an employee..But that goes to she you must read EVERYTHING you sign...no more thinking the person you are dealing with look honest...I am sorry that happened to you, but at least you have a job in this economic...I always try to find the best in best situtation...good luck!!!!!!

I agree, it is really a shame for them to do that. During the interview process, everything was discuss already to clarify any issue that may arise. Unfortunately for you, you got an employer who never honor word of mouth. If they did not made you sign anything about the salary distribution during the contract signing then you have every reason to fight back .If this is the type of employer I will have, I'd rather quit than continue living in a life where I was cheated on the first day of my work.
