Coincidences or Destiny?

Whatever happens in our lives, when we get to see a person we knew from long ago, or if we happen to meet someone and this person becomes part of our lives... or maybe when we decide on certain things.. then it led us closer to something we were thinking before... like a plan set aside for other things, a dream left behind and then we are reminded of them again... Would you think of it as a coincidence... or our destiny?

I like to believe more in serendipity (my favorite word in English, by the way :P). On the other hand though I think things come in your life when you're prepared for them, not when you want them because only then you'll know how to cherish them for real. I also have a theory about what you mentioned in your post about people in our lives: i think every person who comes into our lives has a purpose and i believe that when that persons' purpose in our life ends, they leave us. And i believe in this because when i think back on the people who were in my life (friends, lovers etc) who now stopped to be a part of it, each and every one of them taught me something. Most of the time I didn't figure out their purpose in my life, but as time passed by and I looked back and thought about it, I could see what I have learned and how they have helped me evolve.

hi there ladyofelia. wow i love your response and it makes me really wonder if all those people who have been part of my life has actually contributed to what it is right now. I am suddenly excited to jot down names and get to see what they have taught me.. :D oh i am going to put this in my blog and see the purpose behind their appearance in my life - just like in tv shows, right?! hehe thanks again. blessed be.

Glad I could help :) I think that if you'll think hard enough about it, you'll find things that they have brought upon in your life... even though not everything I personally have taught from other people are things I am really aware of, but I am sure they somehow contributed to who I am now.

I believe there is no such thing as coincidences, only fate. Much like the line said in Kung Fu Panda. Everything happens for a reason. It is BY the will of a Supreme Being that we are guided and led.

Well i would believe that this is true of course that everything does happen for a reason. that though we have our will, we are given the freedom to choice, still God acts in many ways and would always have us meet with people who can help us in our lives.

Funnily enough, I don't believe in either at this point in time. There is absolutely, positively no such thing as destiny. Your life cannot be mapped out to lead to some predetermined destination. It will invalidate the entire point of living when you think about it. There is nothing that is written in the stars. If there is, I'll be kind of depressed and my life will be rather defeated. Coincidence is something that I don't really like either. There is really nothing that does not go according to something that I do or plan out or that someone tends to plan out. It is all about observation and trying to make the choices to fit an end goal. Granted, sometimes it is not the best choices being made, but still it's the choices that I make and not down to destiny or coincidence.

Hi there megamatt. you always have great responses to topic such as this. thank you for your time. I think you do have a point, but somehow i still see that in this world, there are some coincidences still, like seeing the same person in some place else... . we make a choice and that is free will - that of course would result in some things to happen on its own... but there could still be the slightest chance that even our decision was part of the "destiny" like a detour in our life. hehe

Hi Chiyosan!. I believe there are certain think that will be destiny like who our parent, who we going to marriage, the child we will had. The others was result of decision we made in our life. If I being nice and to someone at school I knew I can made them become my friend and not act the same with others. Because I usually see someone from they body gesture and they way they act and smile.

Everything happens for a reason. I don't think of anything as being a coincidence. It is just synchronicity. Two or more things happen at the same time to lead us along our path in life. We do have free will, though, and don't have to do anything about what will occur because of these things, if we don't want to.

thank you mandolingirl for your response. i guess you are right, everything does happen for a reason, not only a coincidence... maybe we jst have to connect the dots more and we will find that it did happen and has contributed to the whole tapestry of our life! without each, it won't be as beautiful! :D

they say that our lives are already written in some kind of book and in this book states the things that will happen in our life. so things are bound to happen eventually i would go for destiny :D
