Assume you meet a friend at the train station and told him you would be there at 8pm. However you are late. Do you call him to tell you are late? For me, I think its very rude if you make someone waiting. No matter if a friend or a business partner. So even I might be late (for example because of the train) I send him a message telling him I am late. What a about you?

If it were possible, I would let whoever I was meeting know I am running late. I am usually early and my friends run late a lot. I would like to know that they will be late, but in some cases a person is ALWAYS late and you would know that!

Correct! That's how it should be when you are to come late in meeting somebody. AT least the person waiting for you could more or less gauge , how much more time does he/she have to wait.

I hate being late and hate when someone keeps me waiting too. i really feel bad when I am late as I know how it feels to b waiting. I really hate waiting for a long time seriously. Anyway when I am late sometimes, I let my friends know and if they haven't left their place yet, tell them to leave a bit later.

Hi aurerm my friend, of course it is our responsibility being a responsible person to inform our friends or business acquaintance that we might be late for some valid reasons. For me, I have no patience waiting so I never do it to my business associates, I go ahead of time always I never let my friends or anyone waiting for me. God bless!

If I am late in our appointment, then I will let him know about it. I will call him directly so I can also apologize for the delay. I agree that not telling him about it is kind of rude. I don't like waiting, especially if I don't know if that person will come or not, so it's better to tell them about it so they can go somewhere to pass time before you arrive.

I will do whatever I can, to let the person know I am going to be late. I was traveling from Guelph Ontario Canada, to Detroit Michigan USA, by bus, and was to meet a friend of mine at the bus station. Unfortunately, the bus got delayed in London ONtario, just outside of Windsor, where we'd cross the border into Detroit. I tried to call my friend, but she did not get to the phone in time, so I sent her text messages. I kept her updated that way as to where I was, and she was still there waiting when I got there.

I will do the same, i will call him or send him a message so i won't keep him waiting. There would be no excuse nowadays if we could not communicate because almost everyone has a cellular phone where we could communicate wherever we are. Besides, i would not like my friend or anybody whom i am going to meet to be late without informing me the reasons why. Also, we should practice coming on time, better to arrive few minutes before rather than after the agreed time.

I don't like to be late, even if it's just 5mins or less. I don't like the feeling of having someone to wait for me, even though i have the privilege to make them do so. Since i don't like late comers, i have to set a good example on myself so that people learn. If i keep emphasizing on others to be punctual, yet i'm late, none of them would take my words seriously. If i an't help it but to be late, i will inform them at least 30mins before, so that they can plan something for that time difference.

Of course I will call him/her or at least send him/her a message that I will be late because she/he deserves it, Who would want too wait for too long? No one right? And it's annoying waiting for someone who doesn't inform you that she/he will be late.

It is always a bad thing to be late. I tend to be there for anything about 10 mins earlier than the promised time. I would feel bad if I'm late for anything, it is an inner conscious of mine which tells me it is wrong. For business partner, being late may damages your image. people may judge wrongly at you because of you being late. Anyone in the business world should be aware of that and take necessary precaution.
