I too used to pay by cash and reason not paying via credit card is to avoid debt in future.

I understand the peace of mind angle. If you pay off the balance at the end of the month, there is no problem. But too many people do not and end up slaves to the card company

I would rather pay with the cash because then i know that if i do it's paid for right then and there and i don't have to worrie about it hitting the bank when i don't have enough money in the account to cover it.

there is a confidence that comes from completing a transaction and not having it hang over your head

I usually go with cash, but many times I find myself spending with my debit card too.

the debit cards are preferred by the merchants because they do not have to pay master card a percentage.

I use a bank card which is like using a credit card without the bill at the end of the month. I don't like paying for things months or years after the purchase. Cash is risky and I spend it too fast. Also, my kids can clean me out in a matter of a few minutes.

It would be hard to pay with a card if you have none!

If it's a small amount of money I like to pay cash, but if I have to buy something more expensive or when I'm travelling I consider the possibility of using a credit card (I prefer to pay full balance at the end of the month too).

me too, if it is small, cash is ok, but big purchase, I like to make on a card--preferably with a reward program

I often pay by credit card, but the balance gets paid in full every month... no credit card debt for me!
