Do you get along with your in-laws?

I actually have ex-in-laws and they are great friends of mine. Where my ex-husband falls short (which is most times), they are there for me. They are outstanding grandparents to my daughter, and great friends to me. How do you feel about your in-laws?

My hubby's parents are wonderful! His dad is so sweet, and I absolutely love my mom-in-law. Last week when we could not find a sitter, they put off their plans so that my hubby and I could go out for a MUCH-needed night out. If I didn't have my own family, then theirs would be the one I would have chosen. I feel so blessed!

That is great! I hear so many people say how much they despise their in-laws. It is good to see there are people as lucky as me!

I saw your name and thought for sure I would see three pages! Over the years I recall a lot of your discussions regarding your in-laws. I think your short and sweet response showed a lot of restraint!

LOL, you know me too well. Really it's not restrait, it's just a lack of emotion. I'm sure you are aware that my MIL passed over a year ago now, and she was really the one who riled me up the most. So since she hasn't been around to frustrate me, there's really nothing for me to rant about. FIL isn't doing so well himself, will be joining MIL very soon I'm sure. So again, nothing to rant about. Now if you wanted me to get into some of my past frustrations.. I'd be happy to.. but we'd both be here awhile!

I really do get along with my in-laws. I feel that I'm really close to them. I'm just really lucky in that respect, as not all in-laws get along. But I do with mine. I feel as though I really do belong, and that I've always been apart of the family, which is a good feeling to have, in my opinion.

Well, when I was married, my ex never got along with her parents at all, so I did not have an actual relationship with my in-laws. But, the girl I am with now, Well, her parents are awesome people, they are like my family. I know my ex keeps in touch with my aunts, but not with my parents which are the kids grand parents. I do not like that at all. I am mad at my aunts for keeping in touch with her. But anyway, like I said, my girl now, her parents are tops in my book.

That is good to hear. You brought up a whole other dynamic, if your spouse doesn't get along with their parents.
