Do you judge people by the cellphone they use? I don't. I am not into new brands or expensive gadgets. In fact, the cellphone I have is one of the oldest models but I am not ashamed to use it or show it anywhere. I say this because I know a friend who is very conscious of her phone which she said is very cheap and so she keeps it in her bag much of the time. When she texts people she'd do it inside her bag. Isn't that crazy? Why bother about things like this? I don't care if you have the most expensive phone in the world but if you don't even feed your dogs, then to me, you are low. I mean, is this a new way of judging people?

Oh that friend of yours is an arrogant person and thinks lowly of herself. So what if her cellphone is the cheap one. That's the craze today, buying cheap cellphones, yet with all the nice features. At least, because it's cheap in a year or two when there is a new cheap model again, it wouldn't be such a waste of money to buy it also. In fact, i am planning to buy a MyPhone brand of cellphone when we receive our 13th month pay. Mind you, they are cheaper than those popular ones, yet their features are at par with them! I am excited getting that cheap but nice cellphone. How i wish i could pull the days so it would be the day when our 13th month pay will be released.

Correct Jaiho! At least when they get stolen or snatched , it wouldn't be so hard on the pocket! And because it's cheap, you can always opt to buy a new model again, if ever you get tired of it.

I know it's not good to judge people based on superficial things. But sometimes I can't help it. It's actually the opposite. When I see people using (or brandishing) their expensive mobile phones, sometimes I form conclusions about them. Like say these guys are showoff insecure individuals or something like that. And there are times I match how expensive their phones are to the clothes they wear. I mean, I chuckle a bit if I see someone holding a very expensive phone but lacks in fashion sense. Like I said, it's not good to judge people that way but that's one of my little faults :)

Hi, Beamer! Good suggestion! Next time I see someone flashing a very expensive phone, I will look at her from head to foot and see if everything else tallies. LOL

Good day Cutie18f, Before when cellphone is newly introduced here at our country, it was somehow tag as a status symbol. As in, you belong to the upper class if your cellphone was really a good and expensive one. But, time really changed. Now a days, as I observed, those who belong to the upper class does not use anymore expensive cellphones. The reason, they are now getting being practical. As they do not want to spend more on cellphones since a new evolution of gadget are being introduced. So they are getting contented in just having a simple cellphone. Hence, they just keeping two units/gadget - one is an ordinary cellphone and the other one is like a tablet pc.

hello, yeah, me too I don't judge people by there cellphone brand and I don't have an expensive and new phone at all. I also used the old one because I know this is not prone to snatchers. And I am aware that some people like to buy expensive one but that is not the measure of how you judge other people right?. Yeah, those people are really new! and i think this is not a practical way of living nowadays.

I think having a good expensive phone has 2 meanings either you have lot of money and you are showing it to the world or you are a gadget freak. Having a technically good mobile phone represents you. It represents that you are going with the world, you are going with the technology. Although many people having such phones don't know why did they pay so much for a mobile. All they know is it's an expensive thing.

well, having a cheap cellphone makes the snatchers away my old cellphone was already 2-3 years old and it's starting to act funny like sometimes it hangs/freezes then i need to restart it so i can use i again. even sometimes i also restarts by itself so i decided is time for my old cellphone to give it a rest. so i just changed my cellphone a week ago but still, with a cheap one so that i won't attract snatchers whenever i'm (texting or making calls) in public places

Hello cutie, I don’t judge a person just because of the cellphone he / she is using. I think that is really unfair especially not all of us can afford the latest model of the cell phone. I have two cell phones only because I get it for free with my plan, but the other one is an old and simple model of nokia which I don’t really like. Actually, I like using it more often because it will not attract the eye of those people who do not have a good intention. Take care and happy mylotting red_amethyst

I am not into gadget too..so I don't care if people around me are using the latest gadget. The most common usage of mobile phone is to call and send messages...so...why do I need other features when i cannot use those frequently. I do not judge the person either with the kind of mobile phone they have...who knows it's avail thru credit card (opsss) no offense meant...

People are stupid enough sometimes to judge others by the most insignificant things.

I love the old models. I bought a new one just for the experience but it seems like the biggest mistake. It is so complicated and I'm already bored with it. I cannot sell it as it is new and my family won't allow me. Also, I cannot lock it up. So I guess I have to bear with it.

I don't judge people by the cellphone they have. If you want to judge someone it should be by their personality or if you really know them. It shouldn't be by what they have. About 6 months ago I bought an Iphone, but I barely use any of the applications except maybe games, text, call, web, or music. The others ones like yellowbook, I don't really need it. Basically the new phones have a lot of gadgets and looks flashy but sometimes you don't really need all of that. Plus you shouldn't care what other people think because they just have nothing better else to do.

I use my cellphone until it breaks. I don't care how old it gets because I only use it for calling, texting and listening to music. As long as it is good for these things I don't really care how old it is or how many new phones are out there.I love mine! :) Happy Mylotting!

Wanna know what my cell phone is??? LOL It's a 3-year-old flip pearl BlackBerry with the largest print on my screen (I have low vision) and the only BB I could find that have a semi-qwerty keypad that I can see the numbers on it. And guess what...I got it for FREE! (with a 3-year contract!) Half the stuff on it don't work well anymore on it, but I don't care, it's a cell phone that suits my needs, and that's all I need. I think it's silly that people judge each other by the type or brand of cell phone they have. I'd rather have one that suits my vision needs than some fancey-schmancy glittery micro-box that I have to squint at. People who judge like that need to get a life!

I doesn't think so. Most of the people in my family uses a moderate phone it doesn't mean that they are rich but they really belongs to a moderate class. I think it is not good to judge people on basis of their cell phones.

I splurged on my smartphone, and I kind of regret it since I don't use it that much, haha. I never really judge people on the phones they use since I know not everyone cares about having the latest and most fancy ones. I once used some way outdated phone for like, three years and all my friends found it hilarious, but I didn't care since I could call and text and that was all I needed from it.

I don't personally care what brand or which is the latest models of cellphones. My rule is very simple, for as long I can use it for calling and texting, that's absolutely fine with me. I don't indulge in the norm saying that these type of things are being basis for your status in society. But I don't blame others who feel this way, its what the market wants us to do. Its the capitalist's way to persuade us to be,that in overall effect, makes them richer. Cellphones is a necessity these days but should never be a gauge of your personality.
