I have lived all my life in the interior or inland of my state/country. Though I have visited coastal cities as a tourist, I have so far disliked the climatic conditions in coastal areas due to extreme humidity that doesn't suit my temperament though I have been told it is better from health point of view. For the first time in life, I am required to relocate to a coastal city for work on a transfer. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Where in your country do you live? Do you like the climate in your current city? Have you relocated any time or wish to be relocated? Please share all possible dimensions of this issue that may improve my perception about the relative aspects of inland versus coastal living.

Ah the heritage houses! I love them too. There are many such buildings in the city I live right now. Bad me, I have to do the opposite of what you have done-I have to move from inland to coastal.

I've always lived in an inland area throughout my entire life. This suits me well for the most part because it does mean that we are able to avoid some of the major storms that occur in coastal areas. However, there are certain things about the climate that I don't like here, such as the fact that we do experience extreme humidity during the summer months of the year. I've only lived in two cities during my entire life. We moved from the first place when I was three years old and I've lived in Kentucky ever since, through my childhood and into my adulthood. We've actually been here for exactly 28 years today.

hi dorannmwin well tonight i am feeling happy so California here I come right back where I started as the song goes. we are six miles from the Pacific so we are not as humid as down on the beach at NewPort beach. My great great grandfather Thomas clark and wife moved in late 1790s from Derry Ireland to Kentucky where they had they had seven children, one was my great grandfather James Clark. so in myh family tree Kentucky plays a big part.what reallyh amused me was that my moms side the Richeys also showed up in Kentucky and way back a woman on myh mnoms side married a man on my dads side both from kentucky so way way back the two sides of my family tree were again come together. lol anyway I love loving here in Garden Grove.

Hello Hatley! I was busy because I was relocating & therefore could not respond to your comment immediately. I'm now in that city. It is really very sultry & humid here especially now that summer has set in. You are blessed to be having a good weather where you live! Good life to you!!

I live on the coast, though I've lived inland as well. Personally, I prefer the coast - not because of humidity or the weather but because of the sea! Admittedly I've yet to live in a coastal city, which may affect my preference: waking up to the sound of sea gulls instead of car horns, opening the door and smelling fresh sea air (mmm, tangy) instead of pollution... wonderful. Where I am now is wonderful: it gets cold but we don't get too much snow or rain because there are hills just north of town. The wind's the only real negative. When it blows straight off the sea, it goes right through me. It's "bracing", as they say (i.e. cold and horrible) but it's a small price to pay for being 5 minutes' walk from the beach!

How long have you been living close to the beach? One gets acclimatized after some time with an environment and may not experience as much discomfort as the newcomers I reckon. The winds are also hot windy stuff? I assume you spend quite a good time at the beach daily. Are there too many people visiting regularly-I mean tourists? On the whole it looks like a balanced weather there.

i am from New York City and I have been coastal all my life. I want to move inland though because I dont want to get caught up if a tsunami hits. The extreme humidity is NOT better from a heath point of view. The humidity helps spread many virises trough the air and almost everybody gets sick around the same time. I remember one time I was to Las Vegas and the air was clean as ever I will one day definetly move Inland

Oh, the threat of floods & Tsunami waves is a lurking threat on the coast always. It could be quite scary & for people who get caught up, I feel bad. Yeah, high humidity sucks. . I have been to Vegas and it is quite nice & gentle. And fun too.

Good day, I live in the coastal part of my country. And I enjoy living there. Most of the time, the climate is gentle, which is neither too cold nor too hot. In winter, it's a little cold but not so cold as that in the northern part of my country. But my college is in the inland of my country. When I came here 13 months ago, I found that I couldnt' get used to the climate here. You could wear sweater in the morning but at noon, it's so hot that I can almost wear T-shirts. Because of this huge difference in temperature, I got sick several times. So I think it might not be so easy for people to adapt to a new climate.

The weather goes up and down on the coast too. Where im at in NYC it could be 30 degrees in the morning and go up to like 65 in the afternoon I have to bring changes of clothes in a backpack in order to not get sick.

Extremes of heat & cold alternating every day can affect the health adversely, especially the people of delicate constitution. I think such people would do well to take adequate care. I normally endure vagaries well, though the moment I face sultry & sweaty condition, I feel very uncomfortable; and I'm afraid, my productivity may go down too.. Thanks for sharing aquacan & Gram13000
