could it all be very simple?

Life is what I am asking about. Why does everything need to be so hard? Is this just the human contribution to life? if we get down tothe really basic things is not life simple? Just like all other animals on earth, we work for food and shelter, live with tibe, herd, pack, group. We breed to continue the species, the strong live and the weak die. But then humans add politics and here we are in a mess. Over simplification? Maybe.

You are correct. If we do not watch out, we tend to make everything really hard. I call it building an elephant. I have the ability to turn even a simple picnic into a monster event and get all stressed by it. We also focus too much on things, rather than on people.

I agree with that. Have you ever read 'Conversations with God' by Neale Donald Walsch? It is a fascinating book that may change your peception of Life forever. What Life, and God, is about has nothing to do with anything we believe. I found it very liberating and refreshing. Read with an open mind, it can change how we look at others and our relationships to them. Blessings

Oops! That should say 'perception'.

I love Neale Donald Walsch's books. For many years I have read and studied Spiritual concepts, but Walsch's Conversations with God gave me inspiration for the road I must travel.

That's not an oversimplification at all. Those things that were added are what makes it all so complicated. I think sometimes I would like to just live out in the middle of nowhere and not be a part of the institutions that people have created. I also think that it wouldn't do me one bit of good because I would still have to be a part of it in one way or another.

The world has become so competitive that people are striving to grab what ever opportunities they can get to live a comfortable life. Reaching out to amaze great wealth in this short life has ended in lots of conflicts. Nation fight against another nation to wrest the rich resources which only end in years of fighting and bloodsheds. Greed and political supremacy has scaled down human enjoyments.

Hi savypat, The problem for us humans is that we all take ourselves too seriously. We also try to live in the past or in the future instead of in the moment. We cannot seem to comprehend that we all need to work together for the good of everyone and the planet. You may be oversimplifying but most of the time we do the opposite, we overly complicate everything. Blessings.

If anyone has said that life is easy, they are kidding themselves. But as others have said, life is what you make of it. I personally think that life would be really boring if we were able to just sail through it. Challenges in our lives teach us life lessons and make us stronger people. I am a believer that God will never put anything in front of us that he thinks we cannot handle.

You know I wondered about that for years. Breaking my brains about it and I found out there is no answer (could never stand that). Now I don't think everything is so hard anymore. Why not? Because I changed my way of looking at it. I don't care about it, don't see it as a personal item and also I try to stay as far away of people, the latest news, politics etc. That way my life is less complicated and stressfull. I can only advice to do the same.

I think that there are some people among us that choose to make things in life a lot more simple than the majority of us do. However, I also think that those people that do that are few and far between. I know that I try not to get too involved in politics because of the fact that I really don't understand it. However, it is still something that dictates my life and there is nothing that I can do about it. I do think that with certain movements that are going on, things can get more simple, but it is something that will take time if it does happen.

No one ever said life as easy to begin with. We all have to struggle in our own right. Government was not intended to be this mass confusion, it was supposed to be for some sort of organization to life. I guess it failed horribly. Simplicity is always the best way to live and thrive. As fas as the strong survive while the weak die has always been that way. It's in every aspect of life as we know it. We all do the best we can to move on and live our lives.

Is life simple or not, I think perhaps the best philosopher won't be able to answer it accurately. :D but for me, its all about the perception. The way you perceive life. At times, its simple while at other times, it may get complicated. But saying that people make it complicated would probably not be the best statement. We don't make it complicated, it has to get complicated and we don't have a way out. After all, you have to live like 70 years between billions of people. How can you expect life not to be complicated?
