So I'm betting I'm not the only person out there who absolutely hates doing laundry. I don't so much mind putting it in the washer and dryer..BUT folding it and putting it up I hate LOL. Currently, I have probably 5 loads of laundry just sitting in baskets that I really need to get up and fold but I just DONT WANT TO. I'd rather clean the kitchen, wash dishes, scrub the toilet ANYTHING but fold these clothes. And I swear my two children go through more clothes in a week than I would every imagine LOL. So what about you? Do you enjoy doing laundry or hate it? Also, do you have any tips for me to get it DONE and not just set it to the side since I hate it so much?

I don't really mind laundry and I never have except when my teenagers were changing clothes faster then I could get them in the washer. This was just two girls then there was the boys too. I like to get them out of the dryer folded and hung up as soon as they are dry so they are wrinkle free. It really only takes a few minutes to fold and put them away. I hated it when I had to wash clothes in a wringer washer, hang the clothes out on a line in cold weather. I had to fill the washer and rinse tub Wash each load for about 20 or 30 minutes run through the ringer then rinse and through the ringer again then out to the clothes line and wait for them to dry. Then when the laundry was all washed rinsed and hung out, the water had to be taken care of and it was a pretty big job too. All those little socks and underwear and wash clothes were so time consuming. It wasn't bad in the summer but finger numbing in winter. Then I had to wait for the clothes to thaw before they would dry to bring them in. I didn't dare bring them in frozen because if they would get bent they would be torn when they were dry. I didn't have room to hang them around the house. This was an all day job, not like it is with the automatic washers and dryers we have today. Put the laundry in add soap and walk away while it does the work. When the washer finished transfer to the dryer. I suggest you fold each load as it dries. that only takes a short time. When it piles up it gets over whelming and discouraging..

It's the same with kids and keeping their rooms picked up. To many toys or as in the case of teenage girls too many clothes I think they just get over whelmed as to where to star and where to put it all.

I'm gonna try doing that. Just fold each load when I take it out of the dryer. I agree when it piles up on me I'm just like Oh my! What am I going to do? I'm never going to be able to get it all done. Hence just throw it in the basket LOL. Maybe it I fold it as it comes out of the dryer I'll get done with it quicker and faster!

Who likes laundry? Lol! My method of avoiding laundry is to buy so many clothes that I rarely need to do it :) But seriously - last year we bought separated laundry bins. So I have one bin that has 3 slots. My husband has a bin with 3 slots, and my baby has her own bin. Now I am separating the clothes as I take them off! It is so much easier!! So I have a bin for "hang dry", one for socks and underwear, one for baby, one for towels, etc. So actually getting the laundry going is 10x easier now. Even so - I am with you on not folding clothes. There are times where I have lived out of my laundry basket of clean clothes rather than putting them away :-D BUT I'm learning that if I just buckle down and do it ASAP, I feel better and it's easier to manage. When I don't put it away right away, it tends to pile up and feel overwhelming and is probably why I hate laundry!! So that is my tip - just DO IT :) Time yourself and you might find that if you race to finish, you can get it folded and away in 30 minutes or less. Once you see how little time it takes, you might not dread it as much.

I feel your pain totally! One of my big problems is I have more laundry than places to put it! So if the load of darks needed more stuff and I'd put a few of the kids things in it only to find out when I put it away that the drawer it belongs in is over flowing. Or on other occasions my kids just dig thru to find what they like but then leave everything on the floor for dear ol' Mom.

haha! oh yes! This happens to me too. I'll actually fold them up and go in there and there is NO room at all to put anything in the drawers! Then when they get home they just pick thru and half the clothes end up on the floor. OR if its my youngest son, he hides all of his in his little suitcases lol or back packs! It's too funny.

I think folding clothes is not that difficult for me just because I can fold pretty fast. What I hate the most will be to separate them into whose clothes and put them into categories. I also do not like to mop the floor, I always wonder if there are any machine can help me to do all these things. To fold your shirts fast, you just need to hold two hand at the waist part and fold it up, and then fold the two sleeves and done. Not that difficult right?

I don't think I would have ever thought about folding a shirt that way. Seems super easy compared to mine which is: hold the shirt up, bring the sleeves together, find vertically then fold horizontally! lol TOOOO many steps! I'm gonna have to try that tip out!

I totally agree with you jenna about hating to do laundry..mainly because I have to go out to do it. I do not have a washer and dryer..I am not sure I would like it much better if I did have one...Doing laundry and grocery shopping just are 2 chores I just really don't get any pleasure out of...

I almost would rather to go the wash-a-teria to do my clothes because I always put it off and put it off until I have like 10 loads of laundry to do in one day. It would be much faster for me just to take it somewhere to wash all of them at once. But of course, then I still have the problem of FOLDING them LOL. I'm just gonna get my butt in gear today and get it done!

I washed my clothes with both my hands and fingers. I don't hate doing laundry but I don't like it as well. I am already used to do my own thing by myself since I am separated from my parents. I have to go to school and university as well. For that reason, I have to live far apart from my parents. So, I don't mind doing laundry of my stuff. Thinking of laundry as sport or exercise.

Well, you bet I'm one of those who hates to do the laundry. In our place, unlike yours, we do not just place our clothes in a washing machine. We do it manually. I can have it washed in a laundry house but I don't like that my clothes will be washed there because it will just destroy my clothes. What I hate most is when I do the washing of clothes, it gives me so much pain in the back. I just wish they will just wash there own.

Good day jennastewart2482, I like your name Jenna, my name is Jenny. I don't hate doing laundry at all. I used to hate doing it before because I would have to gather it all together and go to the laundrymat because I didn't have facilities where I lived. I sure hated it then. Now I rent a house with my mother, we are roommates, and we have washing facilities where we live. We have lived here for 4 years now and I don't hate doing laundry anymore. I do my own and my mom does her own but I have to admit that my mom will do more than me as she will change my bedding and wash my sheets and towels but I wash all of my own clothes. I find it easiest to fold my laundry as I take it out of the dryer instead of putting it all in a basket to get sqawashed. I just take it out one piece at a time and fold it and put it in a basket and then put it away when I am finished all of it. So since you have kids why not have a basket for each kid and one for you and your hubby and as you are taking the clothes out of the dryer...fold it right away and put it in the appropriate basket. That way you have each basket already sorted per person and it makes it easier to put away after. littlemissy here signing off for now, talk to you soon my friend

HAHAHA. We actually share the same sentiments. I don't like doing laundry. That's the only chore I don't do. I just don't like the feel of my hands after washing the clothes. lol
