I have to admit that I am easily distracted while I was doing something. When I was doing mylot posting for instance, I would hate my mom or other person talking out loud, or discussing something on the background. I might be distracted or slow down my process on the job, or I might stop what I was doing and instead listen to it. The same while I was working, I hate people was around me and bother me work. I just can't get my mind on something focus, and pay full attention to it while someone chatting or discussing on the background. What about you? Or do you have any advice to help me not easily got distracted?

yes me too, many people so noisy in my home, talking about another or something, just like they don't have any activities. i think, they could do something better than talking about the other and only bothering me in my work. i can be easily distracted by them, but i have get the best way for this, sometime i try to set a headphone and start hearing a music, it is better and sometime give me inspiration.

Its all in the game. We can't avoid any situations. As mylot can't be our main or full time job. We do it in our leisure time and also as there is no specific place so that we can spend there. Its waste of going to net center just for few minutes.

Unfortunately, I have exactly the same problem as you, so I hope other mylotters can help us. I have this teacher who has the annoying habit of talking during tests. There's no way I can concentrate if someone's talking why I try to remember or to think the answer. I wonder if she does it on purpose

Well now, I hear you and I feel you. I also get that way. I hate anyone bothering me when I am into what I am doing. It is a major problem for me. That same thing happened to me at work when I was working. I used to yell at people all day long. It is very frustrating when that happens. You are not alone on this my friend.

I actually am capable of doing things at the same time. However, I have a specified number of tasks that I can do, but no more than that. I get to do things like typing on the computer while watching Tv, or talking on the phone. This is the reason why it can be easy for me to do things, and not get distracted, not unless of course I see a sexy pretty woman walking in front of me. That is another thing. LOL...

I am easily distracted that is why when I am doing something I make sure I am alone, the tv is off.. Unlike when I was younger, I can tolerate noise and still focus on what I am doing!

I like to be very focused on whatever I am doing, and don't like distractions either. But life doesn't tend to be without distractions, and whilst there are times, when I will continue focusing and blocking out the distraction, there are times, when I just have to stop for a while and give whatever is disturbing my work my full attention. Noise like radio or people talking to each other are easy to deal with, but it is annoying when anybody wanders into my room when they know I am working. I tend to tell them that it is OK for them as they work away from home in an office, and then ask them how they would like it if I came into their office asking them questions and disturbing them. In fact that would be impossible because mostly, their boss wouldn't tolerate it, so then I can say that my boss (which is myself) does not tolerate it either! _Derek

I think that procrastination is one of the main reasons that so many students fail exams each and every day. I used to be very easily distracted indeed until I made the decision to start working from home instead of getting a job where I would have a manager checking up on me. I had to learn to manage my own time and get enough work done to earn the money that I really need. I soon managed to do this, and now I have to say that I am honestly happier than I have ever been. I can't see that changing anytime soon.

It depends what I am doing. I sell magazines and every day when I get home I have to count the money that I have made that day, and I have to write down the number of magazines I have sold, which streets I have visited etc. I easily get distracted when my husband starts talking to me while I am counting and then I have to start over. I often get annoyed when he keeps on interrupting me. In other situations I have become used to his interruptions, and I am able to continue writing responses etc while he is talking to me. Spmetimes I only write half a sentence at a time because he talks a lot and he interrupts me all the time, but I am I usually able to continue my sentence after the interruption.

I don't mind if they are talking to each other or even if they have the TV on, no what bothers me is when they are asking me something or wanting to hold a conversation with me while I am trying to type out my reply to a MyLot discussion. I can't talk to them and type my reply out at the same time. I get confused and so I have to stop typing until they are done speaking to me.

I must say that I am not easily distracted by my environment when I am working on something. This is especially true when I have a deadline or I need to finish something urgent. I really focus on finishing my tasks as efficiently as possible. This makes me insensitive of my surroundings that sometimes people complain on me that I don't hear them when they are calling me. I even sometimes forgot to eat when I am so hooked on what I am doing!

I only am if I am doing 10 things at the same time.. then I might forget what to do also at the same time. For the rest no. If I am busy I forget everything around me, that includes my kids. At work, home situation etc. Get focused on your work or what you have to do, not on what other people do or say. Don't be interested in that (I am not a curious person, I don't like gossip so it makes it easy for me to ignore others). If those discussions are too loud just ask them to go elsewhere so you can continue working. Might be they are not aware of it at all.

I am easily distracted too. There are some people who can surf the Internet while watching TV or read a book while listening to music. I, on the other hand, get distracted if I am doing two things at the same time. I also feel that it is easier to work when nobody's around to bother me. I hope somebody from mylot would give us some tips on how to do multiple tasks without getting distracted and with efficiency.

I don't get distracted at all. In fact i have my headset on and I'm playing some music and doing my stuff (mylotting) while father is listening to the news and sometimes arguing with my step mom about the government and their flaws. I guess I got used to it, because I have been doing this for a long time now, maybe I was still 7 or 8 years old, and now I'm already 22. Hmmmm... the only suggestion i can give to you would be, that you find a quiet place where you can do your work, because it would be very difficult for you to just follow what I usually do. Have a nice day kingparker.

Earplugs? Haha, kidding, that's best for extreme situations. If loud noise distracts you, you can always ask the people making all the noise to leave the room, or you could leave, whichever is most convenient, or you could ask them to be a bit more quiet, as you're trying to focus. Most people will listen to that and hush themselves up a bit.
