Hello there. My father was planning to buy a laptop for the next few months and since I'm taking a computer course, he want me to decide what brand of laptop is better. I know it's too early to ask about that but I guess it's fine. hehehe. I'm really having hard time thinking what brand of laptop is better, durable and has a good performance. I think location will matter. I'm living in Philippines(a country in Southeast Asia in the Western Pacific Ocean. Pacific countries are really hot places. Except for apple brand. We all know that apple laptops are really good but expensive. Can you help me what laptop has a better performance in a reasonable price?

I once started a discussion asking people about the brand for my laptop, and now I am responding to one. I bought an HP laptop 2 months ago. And its working awesome. After apple Dell and HP are the ones who rule in the world of laptop.

According to me the best 2 laptop brands that I have are Sony Vaio and Dell. Sony Vaio is best for its performance but it is expensive as compared to the other brands also its battery timing is not good. Secondly the Dell is also good in its performance and the best thing about it is that its battery timing is best. I have been using Dell N5010 since more than 1 year and it is giving more than 2.5 hours of its battery timing.

In a laptop survey they did, it turn out that Asus and Toshiba had fewest malfunctioning issues in 3 years.. In my opinion, Asus, Toshiba and Dell all is in medium price range. Sony and Apple is very expensive for their price..maybe because of their fancy design.. If you're looking for budget and performance laptop, you might consider Acer, they have very cheap price and quite a good performer.. and most of the new models comes with 3 years warranty, so you don't need to worry about they break anytime soon... i would suggest the Acer Aspire 4755g, i personally own one, it almost have everything you want in a laptop, cheap price, 14 inch clear LED monitor, webcam, second generation intel i series processor, large amount of hard drive space and ram, and also a quite powerful dedicated Nvidia graphic card if you wanna have some gaming session. The only down part of this laptop is that the build in speaker is very soft even when you turn it all up, but you can easily buy a cheap external speaker or use headphone. hope this help =)

Hi Rusale. I suggest that you either buy an Asus notebook or an Acer one. Asus and Acer notebooks are durable and are known for good performance and are not that expensive. If you have a lot of budget then you can also go for Dell or Lenovo. You should eliminate the rest of the brands. As a recap, you can just choose from the four which are Asus, Acer, Dell or Lenovo. By the way, I heard Asus notebooks don't heat up so easily so you might consider it already. I also suggest that you visit the PC stores in the malls and compare the salesmen's opinions. You can get a lot of tips from them if you know what questions to ask.
