Well, I.Pathan has been included in the ODI squad for last two ODI vs WI.
In last match Irfan didn't get the chance to play.
So after winning the series now he may get the chance which he deserves...
If he gets the chance then this will be a crucial game for him, Come back after a long time....But In Indian conditions I don't think he will be much effective, so it will not be easy for him to make his come back..
And I personally thinks that giving a chance in one or two ODI will not help to judge his recent form. He should have given the chance to play in Australia.
Even Mithun got the chance so Irfan may have given the chance to play in Australia.

It was a dream come true for him, on a pitch like that, if one could swing the ball, it had to be Irfan Pathan only, they compare him with Praveen Kumar but he is much better than him and being a left handed bowler is a extra bonus.
The very first ball was the announcement that he's back and I'm sure that no one can stop him now. In case, by any chance if he gets a chance in Australia, he will be certainly a permanent bowler of Indian cricket team.

If you see in last match, the speed was also good. For swing bowlers it's a good speed, his average speed was 130 and fastest was 133, even McGrath in his last few years used to bowl in 135 range and he was still successful, if with this kind of swing one has to complain for pace, then the bowler should be Praveen Kumar, he literally bowls at a speed of 120+ . Sometimes, I really feel sorry for him, had he have some more pace, he would have been a much better player but fortunately, we do have Irfan Pathan certainly better than any other swing bowler in India.

Hello venkit,
I think I.Pathan must work out more on his bating so that he may get more chances to get included in the Indian team because i think as bowler he is now not much effective due to lack of pace but once he has good bating then automatically he gets more chances to be included as an all rounder.

He already good in his batting.
Selectors, told him that we don't mind your batting and we ned a bowler who can bat.
And not a batsman who can bowl.
He is considered as a good all rounder, but need to give some good performance in bowling to get into the team.

But Irfan is not selected in the Test team for Australian series.
Hope that he will get some chance in ODI(Australia).
If he is not given at leat two or three chances, then we cant judge his current bowling. Yesterday also he swing the ball well initially, and got 2 wickets. Its good to watch him picking wickets..

ya Irfan bowled beautifully in the first over.
He took valuable 2 wickets, but got some good hits from pollard, that's acceptable in the course of game. But I think Irfan should be given more chances, specially in Australia. An din batting, i think Irfan and Wasim both are in the same level..

Recently we see many upcoming young fast bowlers with impressive talents. Philander of S Africa, Pat Cummins of Australia are examples for it. So, in my opinion India should give chances to promising youngsters to compete the upcoming talents in other nation's cricket team. Irfan Pathan is a player who enjoyed maximum chances to play for India in past and showed the maximum possible potential in him. Expecting more from him is unwanted.

Youngsters in Indian bowling is not making a very good mark like philander.
I still believe that Indian bowling is average when compared to other world class team.Irfan Pathan is a talented player and if he plays well after come back, then he could be very handy for the team. he got only one chance in the last ODI,he took two wickets in that, he should be given more chances.

why? Players who make a comeback can work wonders and if he is better than the new untested player why should you be against his selection? defies logic!

Irfan has to grab the chance that has come his way, who knows he may get a recall into the test side when India tours Australia. He has done the hard work and he has to maintain the intensity to reap rewards. Given the fitness level of the pacemen of India he can be confident of playing for India again. He is a proven all rounder and can play on the strength of his batting alone. But India need his bowling talent and I wish he comes back into the Indian side asap. It will not hurt to have Yousuf back in the ODI side too.
