No It isn't a Godfather post , this is what I said when my sister said it was better for me to wear t-shirts that are actually my size because " when I wear a shirt two sizes too large, I look bigger." I said "Good! then they will fear me!"I never thought i had to dress to impress or attract others. The reason I still have my old clothes is because I didn't intend to lose weight , but I did. And I Still love my old clothes. Do you dress to impress others? Does your sixe depress you?

I never dressed to impress anyone. I never cared what I looked like. I figured, who would look at me anyway. So, I just wore what i felt like it. I was heavy when I was younger, then after I was diagnosed with diabetes, I lost a lot of weight. I actually felt good. Then, after the marriage broke up, I started gaining again. Now I am looking to lose it again. I do not feel as good as I did when I was thin. My size does not depress me, it bothers me because of how I feel. Now, T on the other hand. was think all her life and I might add extremely beautiful. Now she is older and had gained weight. She does not like what she looks like and wants to lose weight to look better. It does depress her.

Don't let her get too thin! I wish you both luck. Question, if you lose some weight will it help your diabetes?

Ok Kids, Enough! If you both want to lose weight , why not do it together? I know with you two it would be more support than a competition. And remember you have each other thin or fat. And this type of love is rare , so rare. So hold on and try not to stress about the weight, it can and Will come off .

We have already talked about it. I figure in the new year we will get started with all of that. Along with some personal things I need to do and finish. She was a model years ago. So, she wants to be thin like she was. I have a video of her from 1982 I think lip syncing to Pat Benantar's Hell is for children. I have it up on youtube. I will send you the link so you could see what she looked like then. She wants to recapture some of that with a diet.

Hmm.. Dressing to impress others.. Most of us do that... do I do that?? I am not sure Sarah... Sometimes, I do and sometimes I don't... When I am all happy and cheerful, I spend lot of time in dressing myself carefully to make me look good... When I am not happy, I don't pay attention to these details.. Then the dressing is only to cover the body... It is nice that you brought up this topic... I really need to work a little more on how I dress.. Thanks a lot !

If I am going out I do like to look my best. But I really don't have money to buy nice clothes so I guess I am not really impressing anyone, and no I wish I was not as big as I am

It could be two things. One, I have lost weight but no one can tell and she is Wanting to lose weight. The other thing maybe that if she were my size, she would show it off. See she is a girly girl and I am an over grown tomboy. The one dress I own is now too large!

Why should I dress to impress others? I also don't understand what a big shirt has to do with it. A tiny/small person in a way too big shirt doesn't look really like someone who will impress me. It's looks weird and pathetic since it looks as if you wear a dress. I wear what I like, when I like and what makes me feel good (or will keep me warm).

I wear what ever I feel like wearing some times that is more fitted clothes and other times not. When pregnant I like to show off the baby bumb. So I find what ever I can at the motherhood store that I think looks and feels right on me.

I wear what I feel comfortable in.....not to impress anyone. My size doesn't depress me. In fact for years I looked at myself as heavy. For my 60th birthday my daughter did a scrapbook of me and her and her daughter and I am not heavy at all! LOL

hi sarahruthbeth I dress to please me and to feel comfortable and i am intelligent enough to knowif I feel comfortable I will look good as someone in a tight outfit is just fooling herself and making an a.s.s. out of herself in others eyes. I must be comfy and happy then I will look good as I will be smiling not frowning or glaring in tight uncomfortable clothes. So I say be yourself and wear what feels good to you.I do not dress to impress others just to feel comfortable and look good.comfy looks good, too tight looks silly and stupid in my eyes.

I have to wear a uniform when I work and to be honest..that is all I really have time to wear. I come home and it's jogging pants or pajamas..LOL..I do jeans and sweatshirt if I have to go out for something. The only time I really dress up is for an occasion and I hardly ever have those.

I don't dress to impress. I like to wear sweat pants, sweatshirt this time a year. When I see my family, like this time of the year,I wear a sweatshirt or sweater with jeans. Maybe I am dressing to impress at those times! I also don't dress to impress ,I dress for comfort! Comfort is more important then style and fashion! Even if I wanted to impress people I don't have the money for that stuff! My sister is clothesaholic so she has the clothes and it doesn't bother me!

I dress to impress myself. If I can do that, then surely others will be impresed If you like having lost weight, maybe you should think about doing some shopping. You can start by trying other clothes to see if you feel comfortable with them.

For me, I don't wear my clothes just to impress people. I wear it because I'm comfortable on it.Why should I bother what other people would say. I bought it, because I like it and I enjoy wearing it.

Well, I think the most important thing is to be confortable with your clothing. But it is good to dress well too. You can have a better look. That doesn't mean that you necessarily want to impress others but you feel better with a good dress.

No I wouldn't. I would feel on display and so out of place. In fact the only reasin I Could go to school and stay was because I was allowed to wear what I liked, If I had to either follow the crowd Or waer a uniform, I would have never gone to school. Now adays I wear only t-shirts and jeans. If I Had to dress better , I wouldn't.

I dress to be socially acceptable for the occasion if I have to go out in public, since I am a small business owner and in that sense, appearance is important. When I'm home, or any other time I can get by with it, I dress for function and comfort -- usually in jeans and a t-shirt. I can't remember the last time I wore a dress. I would rather wear something too big than too small, because I don't like shirts that are too tight. In summer heat I wear shorts and a t-shirt. I hate shopping for clothes because I don't like most of todays styles and colors. They just aren't me. I do best in thrift shops, but can't seem to find anything I like there, either. Too bad I hate sewing.

I can sew by hand. I tried the machine and broke it! I vowed right then and there no more machines! My trick is to go to the men's section. 95%of my clothes are from the men section. All you need is your inseem and waist size and your chest size and you are set.

That's funny, Sarah. Hand sewing is the only kind I do, too, but I can't do too much of it anymore because of my eyesight and my arthritis in my hands. Both my mother and mil sewed, knitted, and crocheted. I think they both thought I should be doing likewise. I did a bit of machine sewing when I was in my twenties, and I once tried embroidery, but needlework just isn't my thing. Believe it or not, the thing I found hardest about sewing was lining up the patterns on the fabric and cutting them out. I was always afraid of messing it up.

When I was with my previous company, which was a lot bigger than this, I've always had the mentality 'to dress for the position that I want'. So, even though I was lowest on the totem pole in my department, I always 'dressed up'. After I moved here in my new job, which is really small (I report to the owner of the company), I found I didn't have to dress for anybody anymore except myself! It's very liberating.
