I always thought that your best friend is the person you can count on, but in the end, he will only bring you down. I've experienced it, and i can say the the best person you can count on is your parents, they never made me feel alone through my times of trouble. Who is the person you count on?

Well sometimes our bestfriends have their own life to take care of too. Maybe that's the reason why sometimes they cannot give us the help we expect from them. Just try to understand it in a positive way You are right on what you said about our parents. We can always count on our parents. They will always be here for us.

indeed, but regarding about my friend, he's plain blinded to a woman and he chooses to ignore me in my times of trouble, it's a crucial problem yet he ignored me.

1. Family 2. Partner 3. Trusted friends. All these are ranked in order :) Family and your partner could impossibly fail your conviction. Only certain, selected and tested friends are the best to count on & can standby your side even at your mischief times :) (admit that, family has the least involvement on your troubles). Right?

Our family will always be our family. Yes, friends are there too- to help us when we needed someone to talk to. But they also have their own life to attend- and that sometimes we cannot make them attend us first.

"Me" ... for better or for worst ... that way I may not place fault even if it's absolutely warranted!

I count on myself in the first place, next my kids. And after that each person, no matter if it's a stranger or well know person, that is willing to help me out at the moment. I don't do in good friends anymore.

I'd like to think that I can count on my friends and family most of the time. Of course, there are just going to be a lot of times where that faith is not something that is going to be absolutely concrete one hundred percent of the time. If nothing else, they are going to have some problems of their own and obviously that's something that they need to deal with. So yeah, I think that I'd have people that I can count on. However, there is always a chance that I need to be the one that will help pull me right out of the depths for sure. There is just some times where circumstances mandate that you have to stand alone. Not often thankfully but you can't completely rely on someone, if life throws you a curveball.

MY boyfriend is the only friend i can truly count on whenever i'm in trouble or i need a shoulder for support. For the past 5 years, he has always been there without fail, even as a friend till now. INitially i thought he's just like all other guys, wanting something from me, thus treating me that good. As time passes and the way he has been by my side, really touches me a lot. I appreciate what he does for me, and it's something i don't see in most of my friends. I won't know what to do, if i were to ever lose him one day.

hello there hydra! i have experienced that too. it was a traumatic one. Although friendships have ended like that, it would never be an excuse for us not to befriend others. we can always trust but never fully. the only person we could give our full trust is God.- He's the one friend that you can surrender everything with.

the person I can count on? Myself, i think. LOL, that might have sounded stupid. Well, I can count on myself whenever things go bad, but I'm not completely alone. God's also there to help me. Is God considered a person? I don't think he's human, but he is an entity, a force i can count on. There are my good friends and my family. they are reliable people. Still, i believe i should count on myself more, so as not to be dependent on others. We need other people's help, I agree with this, but in the end it should be ourselves that we need to put our faith in, because we have control over ourselves and our own lives. My opinion.
