I want to add HTML coded matter. / myLot

When I created a half page matter on the new website I created and pasted the HTML code in my profile page, by going into edit mode and add content-html, i could not make it published. I see many people here in their page posted their banner like info regarding their other site info. I wonder and puzzled on how to do it. Friends :) guide me :)

Thank You verymuch Jlyn. But all these steps I have already done and now also I tried once again all those steps narrated in the FAQ. mmmmmhhhhmmmmm..... nothing happened when finally I view my profile.
