Anyone who tried scribie transcription job?

I feel excited for the rate of 10$/hr.That could be a decent amount in every 6 to 8 hrs task daily. What is your experience with scribie?

I think it's a good site. But after reading this discussion I tried to research more about it and I found out that it is better to register if our Paypal account is already verified. Mine isn't yet. So maybe I should start working on that first before I try to apply for Scribie to avoid getting rejected.

Yes, the website requires you to have a verified Paypal account.Any verified Paypal will do, as your sister's Paypal?What do you think?

Scribie is a good transcription site. The $10/hour refers to the the pay you get if you transcribe 1 hour of audio file. The files are actually broken into 6 minutes per file and you can choose what file to transcribe. Usually a 6 minute-file can be transcribed in 30 minutes if the audio content is good. However you are given 2 hours to complete one 6-minute file. Your work is graded by QA people and if you consistently get good marks, you can be promoted to a QA also, in which case you get paid the same amount but it takes less time and effort than transcribing :)

Yes, you need to finish it within the time period otherwise the file goes back to the queue so that others could do it. The transcript should be verbatim, it should be exactly how it was said except for a few exceptions. There are instructions on how to deal with this :)

Does this mean you need to finished it in allotting time only? What if some of the audio you transcribe are wrong but sounds similar, is that fine?

I really would like to try it out. However, they require their workers to have a verified Paypal account. I don't have one so I won't be able to do work in there. Maybe next year when I already verify my Paypal account. I think it is a good earning opportunity online. Kindly do give me a feedback regarding your experience in working in there once you do join. I have tried it BUT I have a horrible time understanding the people who are talking. There is either always other people talking in the background or background noise. Needless to say I never actually completed a task for them because it's to hard for me to understand the people talking.
