Who would you consider to be the greatest genius that ever lived?

I would have to say Albert Einstein. Einstein produced ideas that changed how we perceive physics. Albert is technically one of the people responsible for the end of the second world war which thereby changed the course of the world's future. He helped create the atomic bomb. His team created the nuclear bomb faster than the German's thereby preventing Hitler from using the bombs to end the war and take over the world.

Hi Ardieboi, Albert Einstein comes to mind for me too. I work with a girl who tells everyone that she is a genius. We work in a convenience store. I do stick up for her because most genius people are a bit odd and this girl is really pretty strange. Recently she told one of my friends that she not only is a genius but one with common sense. To that he replied, "Well thank God they didn't have convenience stores back when Einstein was around because who knows where we'd be today!"

Yeah, but more probable is that she's gone crazy or something.

When I just read the topic of this discussion, Albert Einstein was who I thought of first too :)

Exactly how i thought of Einstein too. He's probably the most thought about person when genius is talked about. Einstein was a game changer, that's what made him special. What makes him more amazing is the fact that he defended two contradicting theories he proved them both to be right.

I am big fan of Thomas Alva Edison. Man was real genius. Edison is one of the most successful inventors in human history, who not only developed numerous useful instruments but whose work has greatly influenced life of people everywhere. Edison's list of inventions include the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and electric light bulb. He is credited with numerous inventions that contributed to mass communication and telecommunications.

When you think about it, he also was a genius. It's all about perspective though.
