"Sometimes God Is Cruel, He Makes Us Live"

For this past few days, I am sad and I feel so hopeless, I came across with this quotation and I agree with the author. I'm not an atheist, nor a God hater but sometimes I really wanna end up my life. I'm losing motivation. I do believe in God and I do believe that I am brought into this world because I have a purpose, I may not know what's the reason, but I'm not interested to know more about it. How about you my fellow myLotter? Do you feel the same way too?

Hi there craziestqueenever, I, too, am like you, feeling despair and lonely over the last few months. I am not one who gives up easily but because of some really bad life experiences over the last few years, I suddenly felt that it would be easier if I just gave up rather than continue fighting. I am afraid to be ambitious and I think I should just resigned myself to being a complete failure. I ask myself many times lately, "where is God? Is there really a God who cares? Why does He allow all the bad things to happen? Why do bad people prosper and good people fail? ...and etc etc and I too am not an atheist. Even praying doesn't seem to convince me anymore...BUT I'm still praying even when I feel that God has abandoned me, even when I'm really bad, even when I think my prayers are not pleasing to God...because it is what makes me live. I pray a lot to St. Joseph now. He is the most gentle and caring saint. I hope he will take care of me and my loved ones. So, my hope for you is that you make time to pray too...

Hello there micha5088! As I've said I do believe in God and I do really trust him. To be honest, I'm not the type of person who easily gives up, but at times like this I feel like no one is on my side. I think I should go to church tomorrow and have a heart to heart talk with God.

Hi, Even when you feel like no ones on your side, you should always KNOW that God is there for you. You don't have to go to church to talk to him. All you have to do is pray .... he's on the line 24/7.

I'm sorry your so down. But things will get better! Maybe not today or tomorrow but have faith. Things will turn around. I felt that same way before I started reading this book by Joel Osteen. It has made me realize that anyone that believes in God has the favor of God if you believe it is going to happen. Which means if you believe the favor of God will come to you and bring you joy, happiness and peace. If your struggling financially the favor of God will bless you with more money, if it's illness you will be healed, if it's lonliness God will bring you someone to be with you. Whatever your going through the favor of God will get you through it. He DOES have a plan for YOU and until it is complete, your a work in progress! Keep your head up high because you have the favor of God! =)

I really appreciate it LovingMyBabies! I still have a strong faith with God, but sometimes I can't help it but to lose hope. Oh by the way, what is the title of the book that was written by Joel Osteen?

God is not cruel. He is a loving and merciful God. There has to be something that caused your demotivation. You have to seek what it is. I hope you will refrain from thinking about 'ending your life'. if you believe you have a purpose then stick to that thought.

LOL, I think about that quote sometimes. This cruel joke of mine is that people think they are so lucky still being alive, without having thought that living on earth is like being in hell itself. You wondering why I'm laughing at this? It's because of the irony, of course. Though I believe that we can get to taste heaven on earth sometimes. Those are not impossible. It's strange, then again, it's hard to make sense out of things that God has planned for us. It's something bigger, something more than we can understand, I suppose. Why try so hard to understand? Sometimes we just have to quit asking God about everything, because then everything will come to us naturally... eventually... On purposes, aw... we find our own purpose. If we don't find it, we simply enjoy what we have and work our way from there. Nothing in life is easy. Every person has his or her own inner conflicts, so don't get so sad about it, craziest. Because all of us go through this difficulty. You ain't alone.

Good Morning!!! I am so sorry that you feel this way. As I quote Gene Simmons, any day above ground is a good day. And another of my favorite is Where there is life, there is hope. God can always be found. Sometimes if feels like we are in a desert or a dry spell, but He is God and God is love and He loves us more that our minds and hearts can understand. I never believe God is cruel. Sometimes God calms the storm. Sometimes God lets the storm rage and calms his child. I will be praying for you. We all have a purpose. God has a plan for all of our lives. God bless and keep you.

I personally thin that everybody feels that way at some point in their life, and a lot of people actually give in to it. Its perfectly normal to be depressed, but honestly i think that at some point you have to think about all the things in life that you are grateful for. Yes, everyone was brought into the world for a purpose and yes, just because you believe in God doesn't make you life carefree. If anything it makes it harder. My suggestion.... pray about it and find someone you can talk to that wont judge or laugh at you. I hope this helps :)

Hi Miss... I don't think there was any purpose for my existence.. For 29 years of my life, I have not found the purpose and I don't think I'll have any purpose for the rest of my life... I too lose the motivation from time to time and wish to end it all by killing myself... But I get my strength from myLot and my friends here... I am kind of a loner, who has times when I won't speak for hours at end with anyone... And at such times, I feel that God didn't create me with any purpose.. I was just created for the sake of it... And I'll die (hopefully, that will be soon) without purpose too... :(

may be.Every one does feel that way, when time comes in that way every person feel that god is not kind and loving to him or her just want to make suffer and give pain in all ways and by all means. When we compare our selves then we get hurt more and more.I do agree god is sometimes really cruel than a devil.

craziestqueenever..I am sorry to hear you are sad and down...When I feel lost I ask God over and over what is my purpose..what would He have me do next..even if I don't receive a clear answer, that usually makes me feel a little better and motivated to do something. In the worst period of my life I would read stories of others who have it much worse than I did. One time I read about survival in concentration camps ..that gave me perspective. Best wishes to you and I hope you find peace and joy again soon. God Bless..

Living is the best thing in the world if you ask me. God made us live not because he wants us to feel the cruelty of life but because he wants us to feel that living makes us complete. If we did not live we would not have the chance to meet the people who bring joy to our life. We would not experience the things that will make us want to live. Sometimes we experience the greatest things in life in just a short amount of time but that experience makes life worth living.
