it's very hard to think if your mind is occupied by many things.

Congratulations! You just thought a nice thought and figured out the reason why you cannot think. Job half done! Now think of what is important and what is not, and stop thinking of those that are not worth thinking. That should clear most of your preoccupation and let you have the space to think good thoughts. That should work out, I think.

Sometimes what is in our minds a lot that are not important in comparison with th very important. and it depending on us to decide what are so important to do first and what is not so important doing after. because only us who can control our own minds. I agree with the webearn, it works sometime. Have a nice day.

Hi katipureno5, You're right to say that one cannot think well due to preoccupation of mind with other matters. For one to think well one's mind must be free from clutter. Emotions play an very important part too as you'll notice that when people are angry, disturbed, anxious and stressed out, they are quite unable to think straight and make all kinds of wrong decisions which they'll regret. To think well also requires discipline and training. So in order to be able to think well your mind must be relaxed, calm and focussed. Concentrate on one thing at a time. Don't multi-task. You're not a machine. Your physical health is also a major factor in being able to think proprerly. If you're tired or sick your mind will not be able to function effectively. Work on these and you'll be alright.

Welcome to the forum and you have startd a really nice topic for discussion! What you say is so true.WHen there is too much of clutter in your brain, you find it difficult to think. When a person is in a blinding rage also he cannot think well. Too much of emotion also prevents us from thinking clearly. Involvement in a particular issue sometimes does this.THere is a wonderful saying in our regional language that you cannot catch fish in a muddy pond . THe best solution is to detach yourself from an issue and think objectively.Sit down and prioritize your problems and then start thinking. THings will fall in place slowly.

I totally agree. I was perplexed before when I see people to be out of it and thinking of something else when something is happening right in front of their face. Now I realize how easy that is. There are couple of times where my mind would wander.

You can not do it right something you are skilled at when your mind is being overwhelmed by problems. It happens to all, I think unless you are the one who can do a meditation. You probably can overcome it and control your emotion. Physical exercises can improve the way you think, meaning that physical workout does influence not only your physical fitness but thinking capability as well.

It's that a person cannot really think if his mind is floating in a sea of thoughts. In our modern times information is easily absorbed, in fact it is so easy that even without asking the world puts ideas in our head even without asking for it (e.g commmercials, billboards, posters. etc) Sometimes it is so difficult to think of an original thought without being dictated by the media around us. Nice topic. I fully agree.

You need only just focus on one thing. If you still can not do it, I think, you are really stupid...just kidding, don't be mad. Try to sit down and organize your breath, concentrate...take out all the thoughts in your brain...like doing yoga, do it for 30-60 minutes.....repeat it again for several times.
