If not typhoons, would you rather prefer an earthquakes to hit?

Let us not look on this topic negatively but due to this typhoons - a severe catasthrophe that hits the country often and causing a hundred lives every year, would you rather think of any other phenomena, for we all know that when typhoons hit the philippines, it is becoming severe and so violent. I don't know but I don't believe that we can still get the chance of fighting against the blow of mother nature aside from divine intervention.

Hi there sabado_dc! I think I'd just prefer typhoons. Why? For the reason that, when there's a typhoon, people can still evacuate, unlike with the earthquake. Most of the time when there's a typhoon, it's announced and people can prepare, but more often when it's an earthquake, it's too late. You know, Philippines kind of lack advance technology. If many people die in a typhoon, how much more in an earthquake, wherein you get squashed by debris. An earthquake, if too strong, can collapse the land plates all over the country. And it's harder to get up from an earthquake catastrophe than the one with the typhoon. But as you said, we can no longer fight mother nature, it's already showing the consequences we have done to our earth. If there was no climate change or global warming, these typhoons won't be so strong like 20 years ago. Anyways, nice topic. Have a nice day!

Correct and it is nature who is taking revenge. I just hate to think that there is no scientific way to prevent these phenomena other than having a divine intervention. Because of what is happening right now, there will be more crooks as that is the only recourse aside from receiving grant aides.

Indeed, earthquake is much frightening compared to typhoons. At least we know in advance when the typhoon will strike unlike earthquake which comes out of nowhere. Usually, after effect of an earthquake is a tsunami so it will be the same, people would still drown in the water if that happens. God forbid

I actually prefers not to have any big typhoons and earthquakes. It's okay to rain but I don't like having floods, typhoons and all sort of calamities to hit our country. 'Though we know it's gonna come whether we like it or not. I only pray that no one will die anymore because of these catastrophe.

Oh, I better not choose.. Either of the options, it would really cause damage to everyone. I'm from the Philippines also and I am really sad of what had happened in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City. I hope it would not happen again in any place.

If only we I can choose that we will not be able to experience these things, I would. Typhoons and earthquakes are just the same. They are still phenomena that will struck the human kind. Sad to say that we have to experience this things. We can't avoid this to happen. The only thing we can do now is to be alert and have a deep faith to God.

True we should have faith in God. But, faith without convintion I think is futile.

Sabado_dc, to tell you frankly your question is irrelevant. Man does not actually have a choice what catastrophe or calamity should hit an area, country or region/continent. We all suffer differing forms of Nature's wrath-- storms, holocaust, tsunami, earthquake and sort--a a result of mankind's greed and disregard to what God has entrusted to us. However, there is one form of catastrophe that will befall all of humanity. You may want to read Isaiah 66:16, 2 Peter 3:7,10,12, Revelations 8:7. I suggest you prepare for this one and take heed of what the Bible says.

I know! But what can anything be done? It is nature taking revenge and now we repent? What would have been loss if we, only had worked as per the guidelines given by God alined to Mother Nature? Now, even if we pray for our people 's state of being certain that adverse effect will not be caused by this disaster, we do not know. If it is our time to die, it is destined. One's end will come like a calamity.

no one can escape but God can spare. that is the only fact we have. no man can control the nature that they had been destroyed for their own interest. what we sow we reap. and that is the high standard of God. of course he cares but never tolerate.
