hello guys i dont have a credit card. but nowadays i feeling the need of one for online shopping. but i dont know anything about credit cards. i have some doubts about credit card. can anyone who do onine shopping answer my queries.... ? how payments made online through credit card. i think sites ask only for card number is that true? ? if above is true, how safe it is to use it ? because they only ask for card number , nothing else, and payments are made. can't they withdraw more money than the billing amount ? ? normally how much credit time provided by the company ? can we decrease that time? ? can we use credit card as debit card? means payments only made if the balance is avilable in the credit card ? i know that is totlly opposite of the credit card, but it will be secure way to shop online. thnkx for your time guys.

Credit cards are very useful for online shopping. Companies usually ask for the credit card number, a security number that is on the back of the card and the expiration date. Companies usually would not charge more than the cost of the item (too many complaints and they probably wouldn't be in business anymore) but you can always check your statement and if they overcharged, contact the company or else the credit card company would definitely help you take care of it. Good luck.

that is the answer i was looking for. So it is possible , if company wants to charge more than billing amount , he can. Is it possible to make payments within two or three days to avoid this over charge. Does it ensure that company can't charge more than billing amount after paying cash to card company within two days. Is there any way to trace card's daily activity.

You are asking for a lot of trouble if you get a credit card, especially with your lack of understanding. Debit cards can be used just like credit cards for online purchases. With a debit card, the item is paid in full and comes out of your bank account. With a credit card, the credit company will pay for the item so you can get it. But, you have to pay them back in full in a month. If you make partial payments, fine. But you will have to pay them interest on the balance. And, God help you if you are unable to make a payment.

i am in a situation that i want to use credit card as debit card. Means payments are made only with available balance. If there is no balance i have option to deposit it within one or two days. Is it possible . I just want to avoid over charging by companies.

I don't really lilke using credit cards because they're so easy to use and run up debt with. But you need credit if you want to get anything in life like a house or a car. My daughter got a capitol one credit card. They accept bad or no credit. As for secure online shopping there really is no such thing. The only thing you could really do is use a secure internet line not a public one.

I have one credit card that I am trying to pay off then I am hoping to never have to get one again. I know one has to have some credit established so they can purcahse a house or a car. I use my debit card (bank card) to make purchases online (I only use Amazon, ebay and online stores such as JoAnns and Hobby Lobby). I have never had any issues with any of these companies taking out more money than what I had purchased. You get a statement every month, but you can pay off the bill before it is due. I would try to pay off the bill in full to prevent finance charges.

If you have a bank card you can use that and use the money you have in that account instead of charging to a card where you have to pay the company and there interest on there card and some places let you paying a check or cash to then after shipping.
