When is the right time to give Christmas gift to children?

Since Christmas is not an official festival in my country, so I may not do something correctly. I wonder whether it is the best time to give the children Christmas gifts on December 24 at night? I plan to give my son Christmas gift at that time after he falls asleep. So next day when he wakes up, he will find a present nearby him and think that it is given by the Santa Clause. How is it?

What you want to do sounds right. Here in the States it is up to each family when they open presents. Some do it on the 24th but most do it in the morning of the 25th.

I'm old and I still believe in Santa Claus.I see it this way. Santa has many , many helpers. And Santa comes alive whenever someone gives a Christmas Gift.Have a Merry Christmas.

My child likes the Christmas gift and perhaps he still thinks that it was given by the Santa Clause

I am not a Christian so I don't celebrate Christmas as a holiday like I thinking highly of the Spring Festival, therefore I have no idea when the right time to give Christmas gift to children is.However It is a good idea for you to give children a pleasant surprise.

We always let our children open a gift on Christmas Eve before they go to bed. Then the rest of their gifts are opened on Christmas Day. I think your idea is just fine. Sounds like this will make the story of Santa Claus more real and exciting for the children.

If my son opens the Christmas gift before going to bed, I am afraid finally he has to go to bed late since I bought him a very nice and big remote control toy car

Well, i mean a while before bed time. And I would select something that he wouldn't be playing with. Clothes item or something.

Sounds pretty traditional to me. There are people here that celebrate on the Eve and allow one gift to be opened that is from family and then when the children wake up, there are the other gifts there too from "Santa" There are people that only allow gifts to be opened on Christmas morning too. I suppose that it is mostly up to the person having Christmas as to when they allow gifts. I always allow just one on the Eve. It helps to calm the excitement of the little ones so they will sleep the night before

Of course to give them on the eve of Christmas, that mean at 24th December night. What I normally do is I will ask them to hang a sock and tell them that Santa Claus will put the gift into their sock at night, and they will get it when they wake up on Christmas, (25th December) and my kids always believe it and even tell me that Santa Claus really come to our house yesterday night while showing me the gift that I quietly put into their sock at night.
