The way you react to bad news

Yesterday me and my boyfriend found out that we weren't going to be able to move into the flat we had been saving up to rent for the past 3 months. It was the Estate agents fault they didn't record our details properly and we found out they have rented the property to someone else! The woman at the estate agents was rude and implied that it was our own fault because we didn't come back into check that it was still ours even though they had told us we didn't need to until we had the deposit saved. My reaction was firstly anger as I was so cross they could do that to us. I was then really upset because it is so close to Christmas and I have to move out of my current flat in January so if we do not find anywhere by then I will have to move back in with my parents as my boyfriend's flat is too small for the both of us. I had fallen in love with the flat and I didn't want to have to look at other places. My boyfriends reaction was completely different, he was accepted it and started looking at other places we could move in to. He tends to keep his emotions in check more than me! How do you react when you get bad news? I hope no one else is receiving similar bad news so close to Christmas!

I just accept it. Here in earth, there it always what we called, balance in everything. If there are good news, there should also be bad news. We cannot do anything about it. Life is unfair. Bad news are inevitable. Sometimes, it is truly hard but we really have no option rather than to accept it and learn from it.

It feels so depressing and if it happens to me, I think I would also get mad and ask the agent or who else it might be mountains of question all over again. It just happen to you or the bad news close to Christmas that's why you felt bad hearing about it. On the other hand I think your guy just trying not to ruin your Christmas that's why he prefer to be calm and find a better solution than arguing with it..:) don't worry everything will be alright..be optimistic. Merry Christmas!!! ^_^

I think it depends on how bad is the bad news. You are much angrier than your boyfriend, right? It's because you badly needed the flat. On how I react to bad news depends on what kind of bad news is it. Just think of this, There is a reason why it happened.

React to bad news is different case by case. It sometime need anger. while most of the time we need to be calm to be able to turn the bad news into advantages. In your case, the most important is getting back your money (if any). And never go again to untrusted agent like that. Although you like the place, if you only rent, you will meet the bad agent again and the bad experience will occur again and again. wish you get new flat today.

Real estate agencies people are the worst people of the world. They can do anything for their self and benefit of their business. I feel sorry for you. Dont angry, anger is not the solution. Just keep yourself cool and think positively and take decision with your partner and do which is the best for you. Cheers.

I don't over react to bad news because I don't want others especially family members to be affected in a negative way. As much as possible, I would try to keep it to myself and then try to think of ways to lessen its impact or solve it completely. I think this approached benefited me greatly because I can see that I don't get rattled that much when things are not the way I expect them to be. For me, it becomes easier to find the solution :)
