Winning American Idol is now Hard if you are a female contestant or an older male contestant, Its a known fact because the Majority audience of American Idol are teen girls abusing their cellphones to vote for their crush, The cute guy who can play guitar, so If you will join American Idol your biggest Threat is not the best singer, your biggest competition is the cute guy that will make the teenage girls thinks with their hormones.
But according to my own research, by watching every single shows with text votes on it.
Sob stories can help a person go far in the competition.
Contestants with no Sob stories struggle tp survive the people's vote.

If you are an American idol contestant and you want to survive elimination, what will be your sob story so people will feel sorry for you and vote for you regardless of your performance.

I know its sad that you have to rely on a sob story just win a talent show but if you are not a young boy that teenage girls will have a crush on you are screwed unless you have a sob story. I think Melanie Amaro won X-factor because of a sob story, if she didnt have one, she will be voted off. Have you seen 4 seasons in a row, "cute guys" won Idol.

Now, I will admit that sometimes some of the better singers do go home a little early, but that is sometimes lack of people wanting to Vote for them thinking they are definately safe as well. I would never say except maybe 2 pr 3 seasons did the Best person not win Idol. There have been some excellent singers Win, and are doing an awesome job, and then some who did not win who are making it Big as well. I think personally a person does not need to win Idol to be a Star. It is what can they do from there to entertain?

I think a lot of the most recent failed idol winners just won cos they have the teengirl votes but teengirls dont give a damn about them once they released their albums. we see that in pass seasons.
