Well,well,well.....Most filipino's buying fruits or etc to have in their house in the Christmas or december.. They said like this fruits is to make you good fortune in 2012.or etc..like more blessings, away from accident ,or etc... Well, is those fruits can do to control or make you rich or something better life...?. My mother doing something i do not believe it.. I believe that if you have God,faithful to Him,He will bless you more, and praying for protections every day.. sometimes we can't control the circumstances, but well God is there to trust ad help in the future...........It is just a traditions, but i should not trust those because it is only fruits or creations ,God is to trust and not those something to make you fortune....

I also am not a fan of preparing 12 different fruits to welcome the new year and eventually the good fortune. I firmly believe that it is the hardwork, honesty in conducting business or performing a work and the blessing of God that will give us the good fortune that we are seeking. As I see it, the only persons that are being blessed with this good fortune are the fruit producers and vendors :)

Please don't bother the traditions with harsh critical. Although I do not believe it but we should respect each other. Let them do what they want to....

That's all just superstition (Chinese?), of course. Even if people load up their table with all kinds of fruit, then do nothing the rest of the year, how well off do you think they'll be at year's end? I was surprised to see my parents do this when I was young. My dad had a good job then, my mom never worked, but we had enough to feed, house, & clothe us. Didn't see the point of it. Our situation was no better or worse at the end of the following year.

Hi, I don't believe this. To me, fruits are good for health. Whatever exists in this world have been created by God: days, nights, water, sunshine, rain, fruits and still many others. I agree with you that we only trust God, not others. Changing our future to a better one can only be done by our effort--the effort to change it. Some people think that your fate depends on what you have in the house and how your house is situated and where it faces. This is what we call "fengshui" in chinese traditions. What do you think?

Well, there are many different cultural rituals that people have and I'm sure a great deal of them are just superstitions and stories. Me, personally, I don't believe in all these wise tales about doing this or that to make good or bad happen . . . but my attitude about is it's just for fun. I was looking up some Japanese New Year's recipes, and many of the dishes symbolize something . . . like fortune, prosperity, fertility - whatever. I do not believe that a couple with conception problems will conceive miraculously after eating a bunch of fish egg clusters - but it's a nice thought . . . if anything perhaps it may give a person one bit of hope or a positive lift. But to rely on the symbolism as truth, ok, I think would be going a bit far. On the flip side, I am also not one to be religious either. Not to cause any debates here, but there are other beliefs as well . . . and what one believes (or does not) can be seen just as an opinion about it as well.

I agree... I don't really believe in superstitions on how to make New year lucky. I think that is just one way so that the businessmen will gain money.. sinece many people are superstitious. Success only depends on the person.

This world is full of superstitions and you can’t control all of them let them do their work and let do you own. You can’t force one idea on other but if it harms than you should. As if people think that the bring cherrs and happiness in their life and thwy will have fortune in cming year it no bad to do that. Well eating fruits is also good for health. People have different ways of beliving nthe things around. Some people do something or say everything of their life in awy that helps himto gain. If a business starts here in INDIA people they broke coconuts and then go with it. It all traditional dn customs but they are not bad. If you belive do it but don’t they let not stop others. I feel the customs or faith that didn’t harm anyone is good. If something that is wrong that harm other it must be protested and should not be followed. It should be taught to other as well.

no no no, buying and using no fruit can ever change your life in any year either it is 2012 or 2013. these fortunes triks are only for those who does not wants to compete, these types of talking done by those who have not finded the exact meaning of success. god has made the fruit of hardwork and anyone who will go through this will definately reap the juices of the life pleasures.
