The new FB Timeline

I've seen some of my friends' profiles with this new facebook timeline, it took longer to load plus it looked disorganised to me. One person said he got it early and that facebook hasn't launched it yet, but he just got it early. I just absolutely HATE that look! Most of us have the regular profile pages. What I"m really scared of is that Facebook is going to make this mandatory for us to switch to, just like the other major change they put in a couple of years ago. And just one more rant...those ads are so freaking annoying! I'm being bombarded by sexy ads of sexy women - and those shaking congratuations boxes with the fake close button. Blah, come one, Mark Zuckerburg, this is suppose to be a mature friend-family-connect site, not some wild, crazy, young-person-style Myspace!

I was a long time that I hear about the introduction of this new feature called "Timeline" on Facebook, but I never really understood what they were. I, however, at this moment I opened my account on FB, but right now I have seen no change in this respect.

It's suppose to take affect Jan 6th, from what I heard. I hope there is an option for us to keep our old profiles but from the past history of the FB changing policies I highly doubt it. Bummer.

I'm also one of those who could build FB Timeline early and I have both co-exist right now. Well, I didn't find any offensive stuff on my Timeline yet. One friend pointed out a merit of the new version: that you could write recollections [a la diary] of different times in the past and those get added right around those dates. I guess that makes sense, going by the name chosen for the new site.

I guess for a simpleton like me it would be confusing, I hope I can get used to it. I don't like the idea that it's going to be forced on us though. We should be able to have a choice.

I don't like the new timeline either. Apparently it is launching on the 6th January for everyone. I've switched to it now so I can get used to it now before it suddenly changes without me noticing. I'm very fed up of all the changes Facebook makes but it's the main way I keep in touch with all my friends now that we've graduated from Uni and moved away. I guess I'll just have to get used to it like I did last time it changed.

Hmmphf, well, I'm gonna hold on to the current look for as long as I can! LOL I don't think I"ll go on facebook too much if they're going to force it :-s Really, they should give us a choice!
