do you know that in some places in india...like kerala ,restrictions are put on the number of text messages people can send through phone... in the area where i live , we can send only 100 messages per day...!!! isnt it torture?? has anyone heard of this kind of restrictions???

100 text messages in a day is a lot of texting, have you tried calling instead as it would save a lot of time. I know some carriers place a limit to avoid people abusing the text message service.

rate for calling is pretty high here...so people here texts a lot.. so network traffic increased...and now they put this restriction...:( and 100 texts is very less...:) i dont understand why the restricted it to 100 messages per day...why not 500 or somethn? does this kind of thing there at your place?

I have unlimited text,call and internet on my phone. The reason for the small amount of text is due to the network not being able to handle more. You can try and email perhaps

unlimited text , call and internet????? thats awesome... emailing takes a lot of time right...besides the rate for internet via phone is high too...only relief was texts...:(

Yea i do feel that it is kinda hard to accept the fact that we we were slashed down from almost unlimited messaging per day to just 200 sms per day... But TRAI has its own reasons..What benefits us kids won't be good for parents.. Most of them would prefer to end the bulk sms that has been put to an end with this new rule... ACtually my mom complained about it as it wouldn't stop ..she thinks that it is good that there is a control over the number of sms that i can sent in one day.... BTW they made it 200 sms/day..

I think the 200 messages thing is to stop spamming and to stop all those foolish promotional stuff that you get. But I don't think they are sent using a phone and I still get a million of those everyday. So what's the use?

Yeah there are many sited via which we can send messages ,but i i think there are some restrictions on such sites too...like group messages cannot be sent

what you mean "not good for parents"? unlimited messages was the best...you could just wend out your feeling like a waterfall. now it has become a shower f drizzling rain...( oh ...so that we will study rather than texting??? 200 messages???really? no one told me about it btw

Well we had similar before when our network would only allow 100 message sent a day because their network gets clogged of the unlimited text messages... but it was not due to the government wanting this to happen. it was a private or the service provider that sent it. :D Why does the place only allow 100 messages sent a day, by the way?

Its not just a service..evry services has it. people told that its to reduce the number of unsolicited markettin msgs that flooded network.

It was started with an intention to dissuade marketers from sending unsolicited messages.But for most of us a 100 a day is sufficient.I think they have now relaxed the limit.I don't like the restriction but i also don't particularly enjoy heaps of unsolicited marketing messages being received on my mobile.

Yeah i used to get marketting messages too.hate it.but why cant they just put a limit on markettn people?? i find it insufficient.. i loved unlimited msgs.

You are coming to know about this now? It has been increased to 200 messages per day, and looking at the fact that I send none, I don't have a problem with it. But my friends who have a girlfriend say it is a great deal and doesn't let them communicate well with their special ones.

Yes, they increased it to 200 and talks are going on to maybe increase it to 500. There are many alternatives, you can SMS from the internet, there are android apps that can let you message etc. You just have to know how to cheat the system.

i thought it was 100 messages per day...did they increase it?? yeah it is a curse...it wont let you express your feeling properly... one day...my messages reached its limit at 10AM...and i was sitting like a squirel with a nut to eat...lol :) i had to wait till 12 AM to reply to my messages...thats sad right?? and yeah...when having a girl friend it can be so dreadful..the limit will be reached within minutes...:(

Well there are 200 messages for this connection called Docomo , well it seems to be a torture for us lol, I think the government doesn't want us to no-life texting ;) PS:100 messages for my connection too :(

yeah i am using docomo...it has got good internet offers. but sad no connection has an offer of unlimited messages. i used to send like 400 or above messages everyday... now i rarely send elaborate messages fearing the message will get over...what a pain
