what is the best thing to do when you're bored?

i am totally bored today (actually for several days of the week). I just stay at home and watch movies or do some stuffs on the internet. if not, i just watch TV or sleep or EAT A LOT., and this is bad for me. i tend to gain weight since i love to eat when i'm bored. i don't know why. can you suggest some things i can do when i'm bored? how should i handle the feeling of "wanting to eat" when i'm bored? i'd love to read your suggestions and opinions here. :)

Hi,bjceyn. I am the same as you now. I have to stay at home for several weeks and it's so bored the next I did the same activities as you, watch movie, eat and sleep in long time. These activities makes me feel more unhealthy, so I try do simple exercise such as stretching or walking around my house. It makes me feel better. I our body feel fresher it will influence on our mind to feel better too. Moreover talking with some person and having laugh with them is the best medicine. Life will be brighter after it

sometimes i do sit ups while im in my room. i also do some exercise routines in the middle of the day. then when i feel tired i will go back to sleep again. i used to talk with my friends on the phone but now, i can only do that on weekends because they are busy at work on weekdays.

Well maybe you can go to the mall when you feel bored at home. Sometimes boredom comes to me too, but I spent a lot of time on the internet and at myLot. Or I watch movies if I found there's nothing much to do on the net.

I also usually have migraine and back pain - it usually happens whenever the weather's hot. I go mall which is 45 minutes away from home. Tends to give me relaxation You have to do it once in a while even if the mall is a bit far from your place.

yes. i also do that. but when i overdo this stuff like spending several hours in front of my computer, i tend to have migrain. so i can't just spend a lot of time in front of my laptop. i hope the mall is a way nearer so that i can easily go tere when im bored. but unfortunately it will take around 1hr from my place.

how i wish i have that craving too when I'm bored. I wanted to gain weight now.hahah! How bout reading? Or go to malls, ask your friend to come along? And wouldn't it be nice also if you start your day with a little exercise or walk outside and if your lucky get acquainted with new found pals.

Haha. How I wish I don't have cravings when I'm bored. It makes me gain weight. Too sad. Yes,.I will do that as a habit now. I will walk for 30-minutes every morning. That'll be a good start. :)

When I start feeling bored I realize being in the house by myself is annoying So I will take my crafting adn go sit by an inlet or by the ocean itself. Don't think about much then if I am overlooking some water and just stitching. Keeps my mind occupied.

at least you know some crafts. How I wish I know how to knit or sew. :( doing some stitches would be fun. I'll ask friends to help me. :)

I love to read or go for a walk. I spend a lot of time on the internet but I also go for walks every evening when it isn't too cold. A lot of people eat when they are bored, it is a normal thing from what I have seen.

Why do people do the same things when we are bored ? haha. Well you need to use your extra energy to do some exercises. Start with a little thing like cleaning your room, taking your dog a walk, or something like that. You have to keep health even when you are bored. You don't want to get bored, do you ? And I suggest you to have more drinks to reduce your "wanting to eat" mood :D Drink much water before you eat it will help to make you full :) But I remind you, having that feeling "wanting to eat" is not a crime :D ahaha. Jajaja, change your meal with fruits :)) unless you are not a vegetarian. You really need help, why you don't try to listen to rock music ? Tho you're bored, your adrenalin won't go slow. So you'll feel fresh :D Ahahaha good luck.

my friends always suggest to drink more water than eating a lot. well, i think eating is one of my hobbies now. haha. i've tried to reduce the food i eat but the more i like to eat when im bored. and unfortunately, most of the time i feel bored so i tend to eat everytime. lol. but now im trying...hopefully i'll succeed. hehe

I think you could hang out with some good friends when you are bored and talk with them. I beleive they could make you feel happy. Please do not stay at home alone. If you stay at home alone, the only thing you want to do is eating, and that is the worst thing! Please go outside and have a deep breath, and then you will have a great mood!

When i got bored, i usually go to park for walk or if you want more than that, you can visit nearby towns and check out what's in their place. Something like, what's is the city known for, their foods, places of interest. In that way, you can gain more knowledge and enjoyed it. That if you're up to some kind of trip.

I get fed up and bored a lot of the time and I do try to find as many things to do as I can on the internet.I try to look for new sites and go on other sites that I am a member of.I also chat to friends on the internet and share a few photos with the friends that have the same interests.I get bored of sitting just watching the tv.

Hello bjcelyn, just make a habit of walking out in the evening and morning.Join a club and play some outdoor games that will help you to avoid boredom.Always try to go out with friends that way you will surely get rid of that feeling of "wanting to eat".

exercise! instead of feeling always wanting to eat, whenever we exercise, we feel like we don't want to eat, haha. it makes us feel like losing weight and it also helps us feel lighter and healthier.

When you are bored it means you have free-time. In that case, I suggest you try house chores catching up perhaps do laundry, redocrate your house etc. Another suggestion will be to go for a long walk or visit friends/family whom you've not seen for a while. The last thing you want is to be coach-potato because this can damage you both physically and morally.

I am not in my hometown so I don't have any relatives near my place now. I usually do household chores on Saturday. :) so on weekdays I have a lot of free time. :)

I hang out with friends go for watch movie at theater or shopping. This is make me passing a good time with them.Not only that i love to play a video game or computer games like an animal hmm really happy sitting front computer enjoy play a games the whole day. I want a difference in my life, like watching movie, play a game, go for fishing, playing soccer even enjoy create graphic and animation.

i generally watch movies in my laptop or else i started cooking. even somethings we are not in a mood to do anything that time i would suggest going out for a fresh air and get a walk.

I would suggest that you create a regular activity and commit to it. A commitment though would need to be absolute regardless of bored you felt. I remember as a kid I had to do piano practice every night, and sometime I really didn't feel like doing that or anything else. I would rebel against it, but then my parents would insist I did my practice. I was too busy getting annoyed at them to be bored! Anyway, I decided one day to work hard at my playing anyway, I might as well as I had no real choice. One day, I stopped being bored, and have never experienced it since. If I commit to doing something I will always do it, and that I find, is one of the best antidotes to boredom.. _Derek

Better read the bible and not eat as you read...just a little discipline to avoid eating and eating that's the better way I suggest

do you have any interests? any talents(painting,drawing,knitting,sewing...)you see where I am going with this. You are young,so now is the time to discover,yourself and your abilities.Once you start you will be eager to see how far you can go in the chosen activity,and if you really like it,you will forget about eating!.Also weather permitting,start doing some physical activities.make sure that you make yourself a schedule for the day and make sure that you stick to it.Do not put too much on it,because then you will give up before you start. I hope this helps!

When I'm bored I usually read books since I love reading. I also surf the net and look for interesting articles to read. Well, you can try raising a dog and go out with that dog so that you can walk him. If that doesn't sound too nice for you then maybe you could do some sports in your place. Are there any basketball courts out there or maybe go to the gym to improve your body. Partying at night could also help you.

I usually watch NBA Games in TV, and just like you, I sleep , and eat a lot . But most of the time, I spend my time communicating to God through Prayers . :) Happy Mylottinh, God Bless you my friend :)
