Feeling unwell.... and it's new year.

Cough, colds and flu have attacked us since new year's eve. Even if most of us were affected, we still managed to enjoy the celebration although we did not have the appetite to feast on the foods prepared and brought by friends and relatives. While the others excitedly celebrated through out the new year, I slept early (after we have prayed and thanked God for another year) because I didn't feel well enough to join the celebration. Now, I'm feeling okay and I have missed mylot! How about you? How was your new year celebration? Anyway, I do hope you all had a great celebration and may we all have a bright and blessed days ahead.

In my local area many people have colds, coughs, flu or a chest infection. I had a cold in December so did my daughter. My disabled son had a cough that changed into a chest infection. I had to take him to the doctor and he was given some medicine. He had a very high temperature. My kids were asleep in bed when it turned midnight on the last day of December. I feel much better now it is January. My disabled son is at school may be off with more sickness this month which is a shame. He has many appointments this month. For New Year I listened to some music. I opened my front door to see a few fireworks in my neighborhood. I went to bed a little after midnight. I woke up feeling very happy and positive about the new year. I wish everyone a very happy 2012.

We got the cough and cold in between Christmas and New Year - good job we were at home with lots of food and drink so we could enjoy it! So we holed up on the sofa with a pile of DVDs and just snuggled under a blanket. In some ways having an enforced rest was nice it means we can kick of the new year feeling refreshed.

Although celebrating New Year's Eve is so much fun and excitement, plus all those festive foods on the table, it can also be exhilarating. It's just one week since we celebrated Noche Buena, on Christmas Eve...Since then, probably we've been busy attending Christmas Parties, reunions, get-togethers...most of the time over feeding ourselves. And also one of the reasons why our immune system weakens is that we usually lack sleep. Although, I didn't catch colds or flu during the holiday season up to New Year's Eve, my daughter did. But still she joined us meeting the New Year at 12 midnight. We had a joyous although not really that great...But we met New Year with so much hope in our hearts, with a prayer of thanksgiving to God and a prayer for good health, peace, joy and prosperity....

It doesn't really need to be a big celebration but a happy one with family is such wonderful. Thanks for the response. :)
