This Christmas vacation, I enjoyed a trip to Dubai and was really impressed by Dubai as a tourist destination. We had a 5 day tour and covered amongst other items we went for a Desert Safari. It was a wonderful experience. The ride was joyful and after the ride, an evening in a desert camp which included attractions like Camel Ride, Dune Buggies and Belly Dance. Have you experienced a Desert Safari? Cheers!! Ram For more on the Dubai Travelogue check out: http://www.epinions.com/review/trvl-Dest-Middle_East-United_Arab_Emirates-Dubai/content_575080074884

I haven't ever been on a desert safari but if I went to Dubai I would choose such a trip. Before leaving on it I would give my daughter a travel sickness pill. Going across the sand in a four wheel drive car would be very exciting I believe. In Kenya along the tropical beach I had a camel ride. In New Zealand I went sand boarding down huge sand dunes. I found that experience very enjoyable indeed. I worry that accommodation in Dubai would be way too expensive. I would read a travel guide book on the United Arab Emirates before going there. I see vacations for three or four nights in Dubai advertized. One of my friends goes there on her vacation for fourteen nights each year. She loves it in Dubai. She went there in late August and early September. It was very hot at that time of the year.

I think the right time to visit Dubai is around the Dec to Mar time frame. Jan to March you also have the Dubai Shopping Festival which goes on which is also very famous. BTW, you can read the tavelogue link that I have sent you so that you can get a tentative idea of how you can plan for your trip. Cheers! Ram

Yes I've been there once too and I must say that it was fun. It was a treat of my friend before my birthday. We had so much fun while we tour across the sand dune. 'though I never find the ride scary like what others says. Maybe I am just used to roller coaster rides. Camel ride is okay, but it was scary whenever the camel stands up or sit down.

I think the scariness of the ride is a bit over hyped. Even my wife was very tense that she might vomit by the ride. But she also did not really feel as scared or affected by the ride and actually enjoyed it much. And yes, camel is scary when it stands up and sits down, the jerk is also very heavy on the back. Cheers! Ram

This desert safari is not over a camel but on an all terrain vehicle. The ride is like a roller-coaster on the sand dunes. Cheers! Ram
