I notice this counter attack strategy will be useful if we play against strong club with high skillful players and better physical ability. The best sample of this strategy is when South korea successfully reached semi final against strongest nation. They able to beat spain and Italy with this strategy. The counter attack strategy has proved that team with higher ball possession not guarantee to win the match. However, this strategy is also require high determination and several fast players when they doing attack. Many of them also depends on accurate long pass to the strikers.. What do you think about this strategy? How to ensure this strategy working well in our team?

i just always see when the team play againts Barcelona, they must wait and see, and always play counter attack strategy even the team is real madrid nothings wrong when a team want to use counter attack.. so, sometimes the team can play possesion ball, sometimes play counter attack, depends on the opponent.. but not with barcelona..they always want to dominate the playing and play their way for football, tiki taka strategy

Well, I agree with you.. I have seen many matches when club met up with Barcelona.. off course Real Madrid liked to use this strategy since Mourinho has proven able to beat Barca when they met on Champion league with Inter..Eto’o and sneijder really made good combination at that time..Barcelona tiki taka strategy has already their trade mark and really hard for other club to follow their style since every players must have at least equal skills and everyone should have above average skills..This strategy is also popular if Asian team meet up with strong team since even has smaller body but they quite fast when doing counter attack..appreciate your response..

I think almost every team these days uses counter attacking strategy. Especially if they have fast runners on their team. For the smaller teams, of course that usually is the lifeline which allows them to compete with bigger teams. For the bigger teams, this is the weapon that gives them the chance to convert defense into offense when they defend corners or freekicks. Cheers! Ram

Well, you are right as usual Ram..This strategy quite useful and will have great advantage since the probability to score a goal is higher …mostly this strategy being used by team who is weaker and depends on their defenders and doing fast counter attack, just like catenacio when popular with Paulo Rossi help Italy grabbed World cup title on 1982, one of famous win against Brazil who was dream team at that time..However, bigger team like Barcelona nowadays also has this counter attack strategy and they able to use it efficiently..So if they has a chance Messi can running fast and score his trademark goals…appreciate your response..

For counter-attacking to be successful, the team needs to be physical strong and quick. Strong because most of the time, they will just be defending and when opportunity arise, counter attack. This will require a lot of physical strength. As for quick, that is the element of the counter. To catch oppositions either off-guard or when they commit too many players to attack.

Well, you have good points my friend.. To be able to conduct counter attack the team should have many players who has good physical ability like you mention strong and quick. However, they need to be skillful as well, meaning they should able to use every single hole on the opponent’s defends either to do direct penetration by dribbling with the ball or doing long passing right to the defenders center..Yes indeed, we must able to catch when they off guard too..this happen easily if our opponent busy to attack and usually if they goal behind and desperately need goal then they will attack with most of players and create hole on their defends…appreciate your response..
