I can't play guitar as well, but I'm interesting to buy one. I'm looking for Gibson brand, many top guitarist using that one, like Kirk Hammet (Metallica) Schecter is also good, but I love Gibson, the shape of its body like classic guitar.

If you can't play guitar, I think you shouldn't start with Gibson right away, because Gibson is usually quite expensive, but Epiphone, which is the cheaper brand of Gibson, could do the job as well. Afterwards you can still go for more expensive brands such as Gibson or Fender. I started out with Ibanez, Epiphone, then afterwards bought myself a Fender Telecaster. The same is true for acoustic guitars: I own an Ibanez (first acoustic guitar) and now recently bought a very expensive guitar: Maton Diesel Special (Australian made guitar). It's got a really beautiful sound. It's however important to learn how to play and as you buy yourself a new and more expensive guitar, once you know basic chords and more advanced chords, then you'll become more motivated because of the new guitar. Everytime I buy something new, also effects or an amp, I feel that it gives my playing a boost, because I just play more. So the point is actually: play a lot!

I think all guitars players should at least own a Les Paul, any of the Fenders, and I myself own an Ibanez ! Right now I don't own a Les Paul which is my favorite of all time, but I Play an Ibanez, which I prefer over my Fender Stratocaster! In the acoustic section, I prefer my Hohner 3/4 size, because it is small and I can carry it around everywhere I go !
