My husband has been sick so I decided to make him a homemade cake and guess what? It came out so pretty! It was Chocolate and the frosting was whipped white topping and I added some hersheys liquid cocoa to it and put sprinkles on it and it came out so good that there is one piece left!1 Woo Hoo!! I was so happy to see it come out right after so many attempts of failing! And I was happy that he like it!!! My daughter also like it as well! Yea!!!

I think my favorite cake is a pineapple upside down cake. I love the brown sugar with the pineapple and cherries and chopped pecans. There is a cherry chocolate cake you can try only takes four ingredients and then you can add a chocolate frosting. 1 chocolate cake mix, 2eggs, 1tsp vanilla and 1 can of cherry pie filling. Mix all in a bowl do not use egg beaters. it will be chunky looking. put in a 13x9 pan and bake 30 minutes at 350. Check your cake by sticking a knife in to make sure its baked through. It is one of the moistest cakes you will ever eat.

Mmmmm, your cake sounds so good!! Nice to hear "scratch" success stories! I've tried many homemade cake recipes - some good, some bad. For me it seems like adding one extra egg to a cake recipe helps! My daughter has a birthday around the corner, so I will attempt a "new" cake recipe - hope she and the family likes it. Glad your family enjoyed yours!

Ah, you brave soul. I could never make a homemade cake. I'm not sure I could make a homemade anything. I just have bad luck at that kind of stuff. I get frustrated and quit. I prefer Betty Crocker do it for me. Bless her little heart. Well congrats on your success. Best Wishes! Oh, could you mail that last piece to me.
