The Death Penalty. Do You Think it Should Be Allowed or Not?

There are obviously two views to this. One view on the death penalty is that it deters crime and can prevent deaths in the future. Another view is that it is inhumane and against God's will. In my opinion, I don't think the death penalty should be allowed. If someone commits an extremely serious crime, like terrorism, mass murder, etc. then they should be put in jail for life without parole. Also, since I'm Catholic, I have a great respect for human life. Every person is one of God's children and should be treated as such. This doesn't mean that I don't believe that people shouldn't be punished for their crimes, because I definitely do. 1 in every 7 people put on death row is innocent. What if one these people are actually found to be innocent after they are executed? And this has happened- one man was executed, and someone else later admitted to committing the crime. It is better to let 100 guilty people be innocent than let 1 innocent person be found guilty. So I want to hear your views on this subject. What do you think of the death penalty? Should it be allowed? Is it one of those things are justice system will always question but never remove? Hopefully this will spark a good debate on this topic.

This has always been a touchy subject. I really do not think so because I think there is more suffering on earth. I think that is God's choice when to take us home. I think it would be more punishment to let them live in the prison, and suffer if they made another suffer. I believe in forgiving too, but the nuts do not need to be loose on the streets either.
