I cant stand it when my husband leaves the seat up. After 14 years of marriage, you'd think I'd have him completely trained by now but I dont. He usually puts it down but sometimes he forgets. He wonders why he should have to put it down and I dont have to put it up. I tell him it's because I could fall which is gross.

yeah, we'll just have to keep reminding them unless they wear us out first and we concede defeat which I dont see happening.

geekemgirl!!!! 14 years and he still doesn't have it down pack lol and here I am thinking my husband should be trained after 6 years...I have come to the conclusion that it's a man thing and we will just have to constantly remind them. It is just convenient for them to leave it up rather taking the extra time to put the seat back down and keeping us from falling in.

Small matter! Just put in down, no big deal. Why make such a fuss???? Or put up a big notice right on top of the toilet seat.

lol I've almost fell in a few times so it's definitely no small matter to me. I think I remember seeing a sign years ago in someone's home that said either "be a sweetie and put down the seatie" or "be sweet and put down the seat."

Its a small matter until YOU are the one who falls in the toilet! Good point though maybe I should make a sign..then again he'll probably ignore it and leave the seat up still...

Yes. I've almost fallen in before because I haven't been paying attention. We are all girls in my home so for the most part it's not an issue but when boyfriends come around, it happens a lot. My ex had a habit of leaving it up too. I guess maybe they find it annoying that we always leave it down too. It could be worse I guess.

Yes that is exactly what almost happen to me this morning and I was so mad. I grew up in a house with all women so the toilet seat was always down and when I moved in with my husband years ago I was not used to it and I still am not used to it...6 years later! I think its a man thing though... O well life goes on...he'll just get fussed at until he gets it right lol

If my in laws heard you say it,they will tell you that you are so vain! They told me a couple of days ago that I am so vain because I always said that the restroom smells bad and the sink is always wet making my shirt wet every time I brush my teeth... (We are sharing restroom)

I must be lucky cause my husband grew up in a house full of women so he always puts the season. I also know when our roommate has a guy over because they always leave the seat up and then I get mad cause that's my private bathroom they could have used the other one where it's shared by all.

We have a three bedroom two story apartment. So mine, my husband and daughter share a bathroom in the hallway outside of our rooms. My husbands cousin she has the bedroom with the bathroom in it. The half bath is up stairs which I think is one for visitors to use.

Lucky you ShyBear88! Wanna trade husbands....lol jk. That's rude of a guest to come over and use your personal bathroom and then leave the seat up...omg!

I told my husband that Dr. Oz says that if you don't have the seat cover down while flushing, urine and fecal matter are sprayed around the room, including on your towels, toothbrush, comb, floormat, etc. He was sufficiently grossed out so now he puts the seat AND the cover down, lol. Now if your husband is a dirty slob as well as forgetful/lazy, well, I can't help ya, lol. Also...try to remember there are probably a few of your habits that drive him crazy, too. Life and marriage are all about compromise; takin' the good with the bad...

It is annoying, but the men don't seem to worry about the women leaving the seat down.
