i love being able to travel, the excitement of being able to go anywhere and explore another and different place..recently we traveled to my hometown where i was born and stayed in my aunts house, but i wish we would have stayed separately when we travel or have a little or short vacation..like stay in a hotel or pension house..i would prefer to stay there because we can be free and independent and not have to disturb the people in the house we would be staying..well, my aunt and cousin was very accommodating and hospitable for us to stay in their house during the 4 day stay but for me personally it's kind of a hassle to wake up early in the morning and all that stuff..because sometimes we feel that when its not our house we are not that free and comfortable to do some things unlike our own house..whereas if you stay in a hotel or pension house, you can do anything and be independent with your routine and walk without having to disturb the owner of the house..what about you? what do you prefer when traveling or on a short vacation, to stay in a relative's house or in a hotel?

Well at least staying in a relative's or friends house will be a little less expensive than staying in a hotel. Plus you will be bonded with them again especially if you have not seen them for quite a long time.

If you do it often on the same relative's house I think it will be difficult for them. But maybe once a year will not be too much. Actually I will be travelling before this month ends! We will be staying at a friends house we have not seen for a long time. ANd she is very excited about it, she's even the one who told me there are promo fares so we can check and see if we can go to their place.

Hi, if we are travelling for a family functions, then we certainly prefer to stay with the family relatives as during this time we focus on the get together and not sight seeing. But if we are exclusively out for a fun ride where we have friends or relatives, then also we prefer to stay with them as that can be economical / take them along as a group. If we are to a new city, then I would prefer to book / check the details online and then go for the one which fits my budget. Good to know about your visit to hometowm. I haven't been to my hometown for ages!

Traveling - Traveling is fun.
Traveling is a lot of fun. It gives you the opportunity to enjoy new places, new environment, new culture, learn innovative ideas and gain new friends. Traveling should be done even at least once a year or twice or more depending on one's budget. As for me I prefer to stay in a hotel even if it is short or long vacation. I always prefer privacy and when I stay in the hotel I fell like I am in the comfort of my own room. The place is mine, peaceful and no need to be disturbed by other people around.

I would definetely prefer to stay in a hotel, but I guess it all comes on budget, if I can afford! I will always be thankful when I travel and my relatives/friends were happy for me to stay with them! I will also be respectful to the owners of the house and if I can't stand staying with them, I'm just gonna leave, but if its only for few days I can probably handle it!

if i can go on a short vacation..i would have to planned it..including were i will stay so the budget is already there..if there is a friend or relative i will go..maybe we can just visit them or bond with them a bit then go with our own walk in the rest of the days so there is more freedom for us..

maybe we can just go visit our relatives but not stay too long on their house so we can have more independence and freedom to go anywhere we want and not worry about time too much...

It depends on the purpose of your vacation. If you don't want to be disturbed or want to have privacy, then you may go to a hotel. But economically, it's better to stay in a relative's house. Happy vacation!

Actually there are two kinds of travel one for seeing a new site and another social visit. When I go for seeing a new site I prefer to stay in a hotel so that I am free to decide my sight seeing. If it is a social visit then only I stay at my relatives place.

It really depends on the location. If it would be out of the country then it would be more beneficial for me to stay in a relative's house. It will save me money not only because I would stay for free but I will get a free tour guide as well. If it just out of town then I might as well stay in a hotel or pension house and just pay my relative a visit or vice versa. I would be comfortable to travel without a tour guide in places within my country since of course I am fluent with our language and it will be easy to go around.

Hello dear ! Well staying at relatives or in my case at my girlfriend's parents house has some advantages, as it allows us to take 1 day trips to the mountain by train and return home with no hotel fees. When travelling abroad I have only kept to hotels or pension houses but then again I have not travelled yet so much.

Maybe I would go for a hotel. I don't want to bother them that much when I visit them. They tend to over exert in making me feel comfortable at their home and sometimes it is too much. Also, I want a little privacy. When we are at my relative's house, they check up on you from time to time if you are ok. I am not saying that it is bad but it makes me feel uneasy. And one thing more, if I am in a different place I want to explore the place as much as I can. So I tend to go home late often. It would be a bother to them if I stay at their house and see that I wake everybody up when I go home late at night.

There are many travel opportunities for me since my work character, But if I travel there my relatives living, I would rather check in certain hotel mainly for freedom and relax even though maybe save money for me to stay in relatives house. Sometime, your relative maybe don't happy with your staying even though they expressed their hospitalities with your come. So pls do anything apart from illegal things that can make you happy in your travel .

I would love to travel but sadly I dont travel that often. But I think it depends on the cost. For example, If the local hotels are to expensive I would prefer to stay at a relative for free. But If the hotels are lovely and affordable I would rather stay in a hotel.

If you want to have some privacy or not comfortable, then you can stay at the hotel. That way, you can be free and feel comfortable. Sometimes, when staying in your relatives house they would look at the things you do. So you're feeling uncomfortable. If you have extra money, then it's your choice to stay at the hotel. But as for me, well, I'll just stay at my relatives house, after all it will only take days.

It's for sure that you might feel little restricted in your relative's house. But I feel it is better to know someone in an unknown place. They might be actually helpful. For love you might try to adjust a little. You may try to think what if they had come to your place to visit you.You would feel good if they are warm and welcoming. They might be happy for you.But if it is for a longer period like 7 or 10 days I would prefer an affordable hotel and come prepared for it.

Staying in a relative's house is more economical because you won't have to pay for the place you stayed in. In return you can simply give a token on thanks like a food that is famous from where you came from. Still, take the purpose of your travel in consideration and the willingness of your relatives to let you stay.

Well this depends on where I am going and what is the purpose.. I would ideally not like to stay at a relative's house if going on a vacation for fun.. also it will depend on the budget that I will have for that trip.. when in a relative's place there are more restrictions then in a hotel.. I would for me it will be a hotel..

Hotels are so expensive but it does give you more independence unlike at a relative's house. If I stay at a relative's house, I feel obligated to hang out and spend time with them too. You kind of have to include them in your vacation, whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. The good thing is that you don't have to spend any money for a place to stay.
