India fails tremendously in Australia, its all because of our poor batting performance. Ours batting is old warriors with three best of world in the middle, I accept the fact that its time to change over to young legs. Are we having better talent to replace the old and exprience one. When sourav and Dravid came into lime light the came with performance from first test itself. Two consective century by sourav and some 90's and a century by dravid in England keeps Manjerkar and N.Sidhu away from their cricket. Azhar also come to frame with his 2 back to back century to replace the old horses. Now we had given few chance to yuvaraj, Kohli, Raina, Mukand, Vijay, Badhrinath,etc.. but no one come with match winning knock(except raina did it once), so they are not taking the place of older ones which is in grap. If youngsters is given a chance then he should come up with a match winning innings, so that he can replace the proved players in the squad. Friends share your thoughts on this..

The thing which angered me most was that they hadn't learned anything from their mistakes. The way our top and bottom order collapsed was pathetic. As far as youngsters are concerned, I suggest we should give them more chance to prove themselves. At least Kohli tried to make a difference. Nothing cant be said about MSD. Being a strong bottom hand player he isn't proving much effective in bouncy Oz pitches. Its simply disastrous to see our bottom order offering not even a single bit of resistance. Just how all three of them got out in one over was the proof of how poor our teams performance can be. I am not taking any more pain getting up early morning to see my team in such worthless condition. Go on.. let them make it 4-0 ...

Yes himzey, its paining to all Indian cricket lovers. There is no plan, now i doubt whether there is really a rift and fight within the team. There is no fighting sprit from anyone. Luckily ICC ban Dhoni, now Shewag is captain, better its time to rest Laxman and Gambir, replace with Rahane and Rohit. W.Shah automatically in to replace Dhoni's absence. Also Vinaya kumar is not looking good he need to replace with ohja.

Yeah, its time to make some re-adjustments in the team. Thank God, Dhoni isn't in this time... Hope his replacement does some good work. I even want Dravid to be replaced but I know it isn;t going to happen. What you think..? Should Rohit Sharma get a chance this time..?? I wish Irfan Pathan was here. Its a good time to test his skills.

yes himzey, we badly missing Irfan here. Luckily he is going to Australia for ODI's. Praveen kumar also going. These two bowlers are best swing bowlers we have, both have ability to swing in and out. Looking forward for good line-up atleast in ODI. Rohit surely deserves a chance.

Hey mate, while mentioning match winning knocks you forgot the match winning knock of Pujara against Australia not so long back when he was sent at no 3.Actually youngsters have not been getting enough chances .In England Raina and yuvi were selected on the basis of their ODI form when they hardly had any recent experience of longer format at first class level, instead someone like Rohit or Rahane who have been doing well in Ranji should have been considered. Moreover most youngsters got chance at no 6 position, unlike Ganguly and Dravid who got the chance in England in top order. Its not that youngsters are not talented enough to replace the greats , it just that they should get enough chances with patience. You see Virat failed in couple of tests and all the news channels, fans and critics wanted him out and Rohit in.VVS is a perfect example of this, he was an average player at the start of his career but Indian team management and selectors showed faith in him and look how well he did for India,Hayden is another example,he too started poorly but did well for Australia later on ,there are lot of examples like these. Its not necessary that every youngster will start in a brilliant manner, we have to show patience, with this yardstick we will never get any good replacement of our greats.Pujara,Kohli, Rohit,Mukund,Rahane Manoj tiwary and several other players are more than capable to take the place of greats, only if they get enough chances.

Why only blame the youngsters friend, when seniors like Sehwag and Gambhir will keep playing in IPL in-spite of injuries and then will miss an important tour like Eng,what will youngsters follow. Most of the senior cricketers are setting wrong examples for youngsters.Obviously there will be no hunger in young guys if their role models like Sachin,Sehwag,Gambhir ,Dhoni and many others have t20 and IPL on top of their priority.Seniors and their attitude is to be blamed. Also its the job of BCCI to protect their young players from glamor glittering and money, but instead they are pushing youngsters into it and seniors are there to inspire.Take example of Aus and Eng who hammered India ,their cricketers have no obsession for IPL and most of them has test cricket on top of their priority.Does any senior or junior player of India has the courage and will to discard the IPL.

Yes your correct, even top senior players of Australia skip the Big Bash 20-20 matches, we need to follow them in this case. Lets hope for some best !

grvdubey your correct, but due to IPL I feel most of youngsters satisfy with their earnings there. I can't see full comittment from most of them. I accept that youngsters have lots of talent but still hunger to play for India is missing with them.

Hi, while agreeing with you, I can't help notice that the problem with our current team is 'sporadic performance' of seniors. While viru is a complete failure, players like Gautham gambir just scratches around even after failing against windies at home before this tour. Any selector with spine should have dropped him from this tour. Either Ajinkya Rahane or Abinav Mukund should have been chosen. Similarly, I think Rohit sharma, a technically gifted batsman, should have been chosen ahead of Virat Kohli starting from the first test in the playing 11. I strongly feel athletic fielders like Suresh Raina should be a constant fixture in test cricket, even though they may fail a few times. And to top it all, Dhoni should be axed from the test team. Let him take care of ODIs and T20s, where he belongs, for which genius would have axed Ashwin from the team in place of Vinay kumar for the third test? Ashwin should have made the playing 11 on his batting form alone, even at the expense of another failed batsman like Viru or VVS. Also this is time for Sachin to retire from ODIs, which will create a slot and groom a youngster in his place, like a Badrinath or Vijay. Finally, I feel it is more tolerable to watch and digest better a youngster fail than the dismal performance of a reputed senior cricketer after all these years of international exposure, falling prey to untried and untested rookie aussie pacers, that too without a fight. When was the last time you saw Dravid getting bowled in test cricket repeatedly? Thanks.

I am of the view that all the seniors like dhoni, tendulkar, dravid etc. should be replaced by younger players. Young players will do a better job than seniors on account of their age and also their desire to perform more.

Hi Ravi sir, After seeing their performance all Indians will have the same opinion as you stated. But its hard to replace the caliber of Sachin and dravid, I felt they still have 1 to 2 years of game with in them. Instead of going all out to replace every one we can go one by one, so that there will be stable and fair for quality players who served for India. Sorry sir, I told my opinion your view may be correct one. If I am wrong, please correct me at any time. Hope pongal celebration went nice !

Well said yaso4u.. That is the most scariest part of this series that we don have enough bench strength to replace the old guard. It is easy to say that we can get rid of the seniors but a team full of youngsters would have probably done even more badly.. I feel the youngsters must be given a chance but it should not be a knee jerk reaction but instead the seniors must be phased out one by one or we could really go further into crisis.. Cheers

yes Ashwinsajit, your correct we need to replace one by one. Next match is best chance to use youngsters as we already lost the series. Dhoni --- W.Shah (ICC ban dhoni for one test) Gambir --- Rahane Laxman --- Rohit Vinya --- Ohja/ Ashwin Above change can be made to test our youngsters so called our bench strength.

Definitely there are many players out there waiting for the Inadian cap but the main question is have we got players who are eligible enough to replace our old players?? I mean you can take the example of Rahane and Murli VIjay. Rahane got a chance in England tour but was failed to perform and Vijay had got a lot of chance but was unable to prove himself worthy. Kohli and Raina are not performing satisfactorily in tests either. Yeah definitely it is also the fact that it is the time to think seriously about our old players as they are failing to perform well. Even our Wall looks weak now a days. He was bowled in 3 inings back to back and Laxman was just pathetic. The same Laxman who was famous for performing well especially against Aussies. As you have mentioned that Ganguly and Dravid forced sidhu and Manjerekar to be out of squad by their stunning performance. But is there anybody there among the young players who is stunning us with performance?? But again, as they say "experience counts".

Hi Phoenix, I too asking that only whether any youngster is ready to make consistent performance like Ganguly,Dravid and Azhar did while they enter into Indian team. If any one can do it then its automatically end for seniors. Raina ,yuvaraj, even kohli, vijay, mukand all are fail to make a mark. So only still seniors are making. Youngsters should come with a bang to earn a place in Indian team.

Openly speaking Indian young players are not willing to play test match. They are fond about money which they eaily earn through IPL. IPL had changed youngsters mind and also their approach towards the game.

According to current situation it is not looking like they are ready. But BCCI has to take chance. I mean it is not making any difference keeping the senior players in team. So why not try the young squad? At least they will get a taste of bouncy overseas pitch which will help them when playing next overseas.

It is true that we don't have the youngsters capable enough to replace their more fancied seniors but the life can not go on forever. It is always better to build the future team with struggling but learning youngsters rather than persist with failing superstars who have got to be phased out one day. Some of the names we can think of at the moment are Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma with Virat Kohli already playing in the team and proved his worth with a solid knock at Perth. There are some youngsters in the news in domestic cricket they can be tried and groomed as future player of India. One thing is certain our more fancied veterans need a break.

msdivkar your absolutely correct, Rohit and Rrahane desrves the chance. Better they can be tested in the final test match, as we already lost the match better its time to replace Laxman with Rohit and may be rest Gambir and give a chance to Rahane. As Dhoni was been banned for one test, he will not play next test, so Shewag is going to lead. Lets check our reserve keeper W.Shah also in Australian conditions. Still I hope some 2 years Dravid and sachin capable to play. But if youngster do very well they can take their place at any time. Let wait and see.
